At the moment I have W7HP with Linux Mint also installed. I am thinking about moving away from W7 completely as Mint seems to do all I need. Any use Linux as there main operating system?

W7 very occasionally as Linux doesn't get on with my Creative Zen mp3 player, although Archos is no problem.
Only an 11 year old Dell has Linux as the main OS. Xubuntu and Crunchbang (openbox).
(very limited) promotional priced stock available. Once they're gone, the Windows 8 Pro Upgrades will go up to £189.99.
The only exception to this would be separate promotional pricing for students.
None of us have had any problems running Linux as a main OS for many years. It's not perfect, but then neither is Windows.
Got Win7 but only used that for Office and Games.
But hardly game any more (must be a age thing ), and just use works lappy for office.
Think last time i used Win7 drive was Sep 2012.
Several people i know have also bought tablets, instead of new laptops.
They are a great bit of technology, getting cheaper and better.
