Sunday 27th November - BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra
NFL on 5 Live with Tony Husband (in London) and Greg Brady (in Toronto, Ontario)
American Football: NFL Week 12
New England Patriots @ Philadelphia Eagles - Howard David and Tony Boselli (9.15pm GMT commentary provided by Westwood One)
Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers - Larry Kahn and John Robinson, with Troy West at pitchside (commentary on overtime provided by Sports USA Radio)
After losing most of last weekend's game due to an overrun in the tennis, 5LSE provided some bonus NFL by picking up overtime in the Broncos-Chargers match at the conclusion of their main game.
A few personnel moves from the past few weeks that are at least partially relevant to BBC Radio's sports coverage:
BBC Radio's swimming commentator Bob Ballard is leaving his staff role at the Beeb after 19 years with them in order to set up his own production company and go freelance. He has blogged about this here.
He'll still be involved with BBC Radio's coverage of the sports he covers including at the Olympics next year, but with Radio 5 Live moving to Salford I doubt we'll hear him reading sports bulletins or presenting football coverage on Sports Extra. I've always thought of Bob as being one of 5 Live's best sport correspondents and have long felt the reason why he's never been given a really big gig (host of 5 Live Sport etc) is due to him being viewed as too much of an all-rounder (see Barry Davies).
A number of news sources (including the Daily Telegraph) are reporting that BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC London's David Croft will be joining Sky Sports' Formula 1 team in 2012 as their lead commentator alongside Martin Brundle. Not sure what this means for his other commitments although The Guardian seem to believe he will be commentating on the BDO World Darts Championship for both BBC TV and ESPN.
If Croft does join Sky, I guess the favourites to replace him as 5 Live's F1 commentator must be former BBC TV voice Jonathan Legard or Mike Sewell, a motorsport correspondent who also covers football for 5 Live but has lost out on commentary opportunities on that sport after the station lost Premier League rights to talkSPORT and stands to lose more still once the three person commentary set-up is largely abolished next season. Sewell would be my prediction at this stage.
Former Test Match Special commentator and NFL on 5 Live presenter Arlo White has been confirmed as NBC's lead commentator on Major League Soccer and USA international football games. He joins the major US TV network two years after moving from the BBC to the Seattle Sounders: MLSsoccer.com article.

Saturday 3rd December - BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra
Iain Carter presented Sports Extra Rugby Union from the Millennium Stadium
Rugby Union: James Bevan Trophy
Wales v Australia - Iain Carter, Andrew Cotter and Robert Jones (2.30pm commentary)
Carter commentated on the whole of the first half before Cotter took over for the second period, so I'd guess the pair would have reported on the half they weren't commentating on for Radio 5 Live before swapping roles at half-time.
5 Live Sports Extra will be broadcasting three commentaries from the Heineken Cup next weekend: Harlequins v Toulouse on Friday, Saracens v Ospreys on Saturday and Bath v Leinster on Sunday.
Going by 5LSE's EPG (which will be broadcasting re-runs of the fight on Sunday morning), Mike Costello and Paulie Malignaggi will be commentating on the WBA and IBF Super World Super-Lightweight Championship fight between Amir Khan and Lamont Peterson for Radio 5 Live during Sunday morning's Up All Night.
Media Guardian reporting that BBC considered using same F1 commentary on TV and radio in "radical plan to overhaul Formula One coverage shows pressure on BBC Sport to save money."
