Can anyone tell me why does the show need non-british investment to make the show?



Like for instance, what has the show got to do with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation?



If a show like Eastenders survive without non-british investment, then why does Doctor Who?

    Who says it _needs_ the investment? I don't know the specifics but if I had to guess, the investment will have been sought or accepted because it increases the amount of money available, not because there's no way the programme could be made without it. If the EastEnders team could attract international investment I'm sure they'd accept it too.

    Basically special effects cost money the more money the more and better the special effects, less money more cardboard walls etc Eastenders is cheap Doctor Who is expensive.
