I'm a massive fan of Janis Joplin. I sometimes wonder how her career would have panned out had she not died. Thing is, Janis didn't have a technically great singing voice, but what she did have was a voice that could convey hurt, sadness, happiness, pain, etc. in a genuine way. She was honest and unique and there will never be another one like her.
Janis Joplin was simply awesome in my opinion. She had a terribly sad life - read a book about her years ago, and it was just heartbreaking - but wow what a voice! They don't make 'em like that anymore sadly...
Hadn't really heard much of her until I heard Melanie Masson sing Crybaby on X Factor - I don't my research and downloaded her albums now I'm a huge fan!

I do wonder if she had lived what she would be doing now.
