Just wondering if there any fans around here?

Just Started getting into her music (mainly her early work through the 60's and 70's) and I have become hooked on her. She has been one of those artists I was never exposed too but wanted to give her a go for quite a few years:)

I have a coupe of albums - most notably Miles of Aisles and Blue.

In Miles of Aisles, I remember her remark about the difference between the performing arts and that of a painter - No one said to Van Gogh "Paint the Starry Night again Man!".

I'm reloeved that this thread wasn't reporting that she had died as I believe she is/was a heavy smoker.

My username is because of her...

she is one of the best female songwriters ever, ever!

I adore the obvious albums - Clouds / Blue / Song For A Seagull / For The Roses but recently i have grown to love Court And Spark too!

Blue is definitely in my top 10 albums of all time. Possibly top 3.

    I love Joni.

Joni Mitchell is an absolute must if you have any interest in female singer/songwriters. 'Blue' is one of my all-time favourite albums, and 'The Hissing of Summer Lawns' is fantastic too, if you want to hear her more experimental side.

Yes. Two of her best . I'd also include Hissing Of Summer Lawns and Hejira when she gave up folk for more jazz influenced songs, although that had already started on Court And Spark

    I love her.

One of my favourite JM songs is Michael From Mountains, which I feel is somewhat underrated.
