Watched the frist two on Iplayer.

Some of us oldoes remember Johnny Ball extracting DNA on his kid's prog.

Thought the first one was better than the second though Quantum physics is rarely easy as Richard Feyman said, if you think you understand it, you don't understand it..
Didn't really get the microwave cheese on toast section , too many figures being thrown about
would probably have it watch it again,

Thank goodness the over rated Brian Cox wasn't wheeled on. jim al khalili's prog are much better.

Heard of F me shoes, boots is a new one to me.
There was nothing wrong with kinky boots IMO.

yes she was showing a nice bit of leg tonight:p

Helen is shaping up as the true successor to carol voderman as a brainy babe

Helen is way ahead of Carol ("third class degree") Vorderman.

For me, the brainy babe competition is between Helen and Alice Roberts.

Most days now my brain feels like it been in a blender.

Ah the joys of getting old.

Don't try the same thing with your (or your friend's) brain!

Kinda sums it up when this thread gets about 10 posts a show and yet a Strictly Come Mincing thread has about 8 posts a second and Big Brother about 8 pages a second.

Dumb is cool and no one wants to be educated it would seem.

Because most are watching and don't want to miss anything by posting to forums unlike the other shows where you get 90 seconds of 'action' and 10 minutes of talk or adverts.

By the way I really like Dr Helen Czerski she needs more time on TV.

There is a widely held belief that "learning" is something you only have to do when at school. Once you leave, you're an adult and it's not necessary, or desirable, to absorb any more information. Except of course for celeb tittle-tattle or football trivia.

Interesting but no real point to it. He didn't need to take it apart to inform us that all it is now is a computer. Also, he wasn't accurate in explaining how the touch screen worked. A touch screen is "capacitive". It does not know (or need to know) that a finger is touching it. A wet piece of paper will also work.

She has a PhD in experimental explosives physics  apparently, which is quite appropriate for a few people round here. :D

I think it is well-pitched as a science show and O'Briain does come across as genuinely interested, rather than putting himself forward like so many.

This show could also be called "101 uses for Polish vodka"

I'd be interested in doing an experiment with Helen on the effects of strong vodka on human beings.

She really should expose more of herself on telly.

Not often you see a calf's brain liquidised on tv. Surprised Heston hasn't tried it.

Was looking forward to tonight's show but it's not on next until 30th.
    BBC Science Club @BBCScienceClub
No #ScienceClub tonight gang - the last episode will be on 30 Dec when we explore the science behind MUSIC with special guest @MrJamesMay

That will be the last ep. It seems to have passed quite quickly.

    Ye've all forgotten Lucie Green.

There has been a very pleasing length of Helen Czerskie's left thigh on screen during the last 2 weeks. I was in full rapt attention mode in case she did a Sharon Stone at some point without thinking.

And they mashed a live brain in a blender!

    Final ep on tonight
In the final episode of the science series, Dara O Briain and his crack team take a weird and wonderful look at the science behind music.

Special guest James May explores how music is inextricably linked to our emotions, materials scientist Mark Miodownik takes apart an electric guitar and neuroscientist Tali Sharot reports on the ground breaking research which treats Parkinson's Disease with rhythm. Plus, science journalist Alok Jha asks whether computers are ruining music
