Yahoo Messenger - Mail Preview

Hi there
I have Yahoo Messenger on my machine
It logs me on and tells me if I have any new Yahoo mail.
Before, when I logged into Yahoo Messenger a preview window came up with details of new email messages (If I had any). I have seemed to have lost this preview window. How do I get it back? Do i have to go into Yahoo messenger?
What is this preview window called?
When I log on to my Yahoo email I then put in my log in and password. I have unclicked the option of being signed in every two weeks. Does this make a difference?
