I must admit, I have a soft spot for Kylie. I think she's a fantastic performer after seeing her in 2011. But do you think it's possible for her to have another number 1 single?
Also, where have the rumours that her new track is called 'Get It' from?

The fact that music is mostly consumed digitally nowadays and is far cheaper than it ever was before, automatically puts the majority of the market in the hands of teenagers, and at 45 Kylie is of little interest to them.
She still has an audience, but chart success nowadays depends on appealing to the young, and the older you get the less likely it is (as Madonna is also finding out).
And adding rap to any new efforts will just alienate her existing fanbase.
That's sadly what I've been thinking too... It's a shame because if this continues we'll lose the true queens of music from the singles charts for good
kylie would never do that, she's far too image conscious and realistic. on that other hand, this is definitely something i wouldn't put past madge.:o she's already got the grills in place, she also did that "shuffling" with lmfao at the superbowl and she literally couldn't care less what people will make of it.:D
i do think like with madonna though, she will struggle with her chart placings in this digital age. its sad, because back in the late nineties cher was enjoying the biggest hit of her career, but airplay seems to have become more ageist in recent years. so the chances of older artists (especially female) scoring big returns like that on the singles chart is pretty slim now.:(
Well her arse is clearly better than Miley's
As for the Kylie question, I don't know. If she can ever get Capital FM on her side, then I think it's possible. Very unlikely however. Although it was only a few years ago in 2010 when she got relatively close to a #1.
Sweet niblets, she makes Hannah look like a nun!
Considering she got really close to having a no 1 with "All The Lovers". Had all formats been released on the same week she definetly would have got the no1 slot.
Madonna is also TEN years older than Kylie. Almost a different generation..
I'm really excited about this Roc Nation album. I can't wait to hear the new stuff. From her recent interviews you can tell she the new sounds going to be raw.
On the other hand though, I hope I am proved hugely wrong.
Is there any word on the single btw? It's driving me mad waiting - even if it is wise to avoid Katy Perry + Gaga releases...
when radio 1 opted to spin the us version of "higher" without kylie's feature, she joined madonna who was snubbed previously and robbie williams who was shunned later by the station. radio 2 will no doubt still support her, but she needs to get more commercial radio support too.
It just needs the right promotion & exposure (aswell as being a good track)
I was livid when Timebomb tanked. It was a great dance track and it had every absolute potential to get to number 1 and sell well. I get why Kylie is frustrated with Parlophone, which I think has the most incompetent marketing team. It was a shame that radio didn't pick it up, as I personally thought it was better than all singles released from Aphrodite era.
I was one of the few people who was underwhelmed by All The Lovers. It was alright, but didn't hold anything special like In My Arms from X, which should have done better in the UK (more deservedly than Wow). At least it managed to do miles better in other countries in Europe, especially France.
In My Arms should have been the lead single from X.
It could have been so different.
Madonna isn't doing well because she has a comeback almost every year & most people are sick of it
The likes of Robbie, Kylie, Britney, Eminem still have potential to get a new no1
Cher may get a top 5 on iTunes with her new single depending how its marketed, a performance on The X Factor could do the trick
Most are parents who buy for their kids though
yes, because he had a huge airplay hit with that single on commercial radio. his subsequent singles from that album didn't do anywhere near as well.
I expect Radio 1 will totally ignore her regardless though with their terrible ageist policies. They seem to thing young people can only listen to artists under the age of 30...
If he can get it with that single then Kylie can do it with backing of Roc Nation or whatever their called
whatever she releases needs to be appeal to commercial radio. rihanna is also managed by roc nation and her last two singles underperformed here due to radio not playing them as much as her other songs.
not in all cases. i mean they play will.i.am's music, yet they decided against playing robbie williams's music who is only a year older. their choices seem to be based on genre as well as age.
I don't have much faith in this whole Roc Nation business...
