Only the last ten minutes, it really summed up how people stay in these relationships and for ONCE didn't do any victim blaming.

I love the idea of having a thread were the main theme is 'booklovers'. It should attract an eclectic mix of posters :)

    I wonder what SpangledKes's fave book is ? :D:D

It was harrowing....I couldn't sleep afterwards.

Based on a true story too.

It should be shown to ALL young women IMO

    Really powerful message.

I believe it's been mooted to show it in all schools, secondary at least.
It's important for young men too as some of them are abused by female partners and find it even more difficult to admit to it.

Grrr, I've got a crisp crumb that stopped my R working earlier, then it transported to the F now it's arseing about with me C.

    Hopefully, yes :)

I love how threads grow and evolve as newcomers join

Do you like particular genres of books Joni?

These days, I seem to be drawn to biogs/autobiogs for some reason?

    Ooh fook me NOOOOOO!!111 >:(

    Are you watching Zleb Masterchef?

Against all odds, Wayne Sleep got through and I actually found myself liking Russell Grant!! :o

He ratcheted-down his personality a few notches and he was actually quite sweet :)

    Who knew?

    Yay!! Winnings! :D

Will you have a bit of a meal out or something? :)

I go through phases, did a 7 year academia stint which meant not having a telly throughout that time but it was easy as that was what interested me.

Now it's mostly social history, but I read voraciously so can easy squeeze a couple of novels a week in too :)

My friend Socha sent me Carol Kings biog, that was fab.

Oh cool, you've caught up now :D yeah he was really lovely in it and very endearing.
I've been quite pleased with those that are through so far.

Not sure how it will do in the ratings as the footie is effing the scheduling up. I heard they even moved Eastenders tonight :o bet there was an outcry over that. :D

eta: With the winnings? No chance :D I need to 'find' over £2k so I don't lose my beloved caravan by January... every penny counts atm.

Bunions, Anne will love this thread, as will Fini and Never Nude, my DS mate Benjamini (Benj) may even post in here too... hope so :)

Actually I can think of quite a few GD'ers who would enjoy posting in here, need to tell them we've moved home :D It will be good for this section of DS and it will increase forum traffic as it can be quite slow in here at times.
Hopefully the mods will appreciate that and Andy may even post one of his famous 'pics'.

Nah - I have so much reading to catch up on it is not even funny. :p

It you want a couple of 'cheerful' tales read early Stephen King's novellas 'Roadwork' or 'The Long Walk' from 'The Bachman Books'.

Roadwork is one of the best stories about life and pain that I have ever read.

Her and James Taylor are amazing together, she's a fabtastic woman and penned the most amazing songs.
She even wrote 'Welcome Home' sung by Peters and Lee :D

Her first husband Gerry Goffin died last week.

*waves to Keyser and blows kisses xxxx*

    :o That's a bloody bargain!

    I've just PM'd Neve :)

Not the number 6 !, Anne will never forgive you :D I'
I'm hoping mine's a crisp and not a dogs toenail. Joni has spent most of the evening shagging her dolly... seems the hysterectomy hasn't dampened her sex drive, she's panting now like a rabid mutt... Charlie's just looking at her in desperation feeling very inferior about his (intact) manhood.

    HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA :D HAAAAAAAA :D

Yeah Levi's a great name, there's a guy here called Levi Tafari, an Urban Griot. He's bloody brilliant tbh:

I'm gonna post how many views this thread has now, and see how much it increases by tomorrow.

It's 85 atm... bet it's at way over 1000 by tomorrow night.

I know - some of their prices are shocking! :o

I'll have to factor in the Duty fees but it's still stupidly cheap :D

Oh good....Keyser's doing some invites too :)
Not the number 6 !, Anne will never forgive you :D I'
    LMAO :D

She was my first invite, with Ramo & Keyser ;-)
