Tunlr dropping Netflix, any solution?

Not sure if you have heard but Tunlr is dropping Netflix: http://tunlr.net/2012/09/28/support-for-netflix-will-be-dropped/
We will end support for Netflix.

Proxying requests for Netflix consumes more than 90% of our server resources compared to all other services we currently support. Over time, the number of Netflix users grew steadily, amounting to a 5-digit number of Netflix users each day and thousands of concurrent network connections at any given time. We probably could handle this load for another couple of months to come but eventually, we’d have to give up support for Netflix anyway.

We’ll be continuing to support all other services and we’re also continuing to support the Netflix account web page to allow you to cancel your current subscription if you choose so. There are quite a few commercial DNS unblocking services available for a couple of bucks a month if you don’t want to loose access to the U.S. Netflix catalog.

Any solution to watch Netflix US? Perhaps I can set up my own VPN server? does anyone have a tutorial?

    Highly recommend using http://unblock-us.com/
You get a free weeks trial then $4.99(£3.20ish) a month thereafter.
A better feature over Tunlr is that you can choose different Netflix regions at will ie Cananda,US,Mexico,Brazil,Ireland,UK using you existing Netflix account.

I've used http://www.unblock-us.com and http://www.unotelly.com, both are $5 per month and like tunlr are simple DNS redirect services, though unlike tunlr it's ok to leave your DNS set to their DNS all the time and there is no slowdown.
I prefer unblock-us, for the simple reason that it's much easier to quickly change Netflix regions.

Thanks for your recommendation. I'll sign up a trial on both services and see which one works better.

I got an unotelly account. Btw, just found this on their tweet : UnoTelly 50% off first month! #tunlr perfect time to continue US Netflix access. See the deal here: http://www.unotelly.com/unodns/iheartnetflix

LOL it looks like they are trying to convert tunlr users.

    Hi Delphinous!

I run a blog about Netflix, I can assure you that Unblock-Us.com is a great service. Been using it since february 2011 with no issues. You will also be able to access Hulu and many networks website like FOX, CBS, ABC etc... Like it has been said, it's WAY more easier to use than a regular VPN. You can setup the service directly on your router or on the devices you want to use.

    Cheers!

Thanks for your suggestion Eban. While I was googling unotelly VS unblock-us I came across this post: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/hot-unotelly-50-off-dns-service-get-us-netflix-perfect-tunlr-refugee-1237153/#post15475949 . It seemed that many long-time unblockus users switched to unotelly so that was the reason I made my decision.

Don't do a generality of 2 people switching from a service to another :)

Also UnoTelly costs $7.95 if you want the same service that Unblock-Us offers for $4.99 ...
Of course I'm not saying UnoTelly is a bad service, just saying it costs almost twice the price of Unblock-Us ;)

I'm not even talking bout their "features": Redudent Network, UnoHelper Automatic IP Update, Secure IP Update API, Bonus Secured VPN Access, that's just a list of crap that user shouldn't have to worry about (and you don't have to bother about with Unblock-Us).

That said, we all have different expectations, hope you'll be pleased with the service you choose :)

I agree with Eban, I was with unotelly for six months before switching to unblock-us and I wouldn't switch back.
I never liked how unotelly split their channels into different packages, as Eban pointed out unblock-us just charge $4.99 and that's it, and the only setting you have to change is what Netflix region you want. Also unotelly's "dynamo" settings, where you can choose Netflix regions and country specific channels, are overly complicated and limit user choice rather than add benefit.
If you've signed up for unotelly use up your free month trial and take advantage of the free trial with unblock-us before commiting to either service.

I think if you look very careful, the $7.95 package includes VPN access. $4.95 includes all channels and if you want VPN, you can upgrade for more.

Just clearing up some misconception here:D

Absolutely not true. Read more carefully.
Netflix US ONLY is available with the $4.95 plan.
Devices are also limited with the $4.95 plan.

From what I see on this page: http://www.unotelly.com/quickstart2/gold.php
You need a Gold our Premium plan to access to some channels...

So again, more expensive than Unblock-Us, WAY more complicated.
Unblock-Us = one price, one plan for everybody, easy settings.

Again, not saying one service is bad and other is great, I'm just reading the facts.

lol it looks like you are so invested with all the "Facts" . i wonder if you work for unblock?;)

i don't want to waste my time debating again with you Eban because you are either a fanboi or being paid to do whatever you are doing.

It happened last time where you just like to twist the facts. I simply don't have the energy.

It is going be an another pissing match from eban. im out:cool:

I can recommend http://playmo.tv/?ref=oihi its $4.99 a month and I've been using it for around 5 months... You can also get a free trial week from them.

Are you able to choose from multiple Netflix regions or is it just able to acces Netflix US only?

I use a service I like, so of course I say good things about it... That's pretty much normal don't you think?

Me twsiting the facts ?? I don't think so... I'm looking to 2 services descriptions, I compare both of them, I analyze what I read and see what service offers more than the other, or which service costs more etc...etc...

It's a funny thing that you're calling me a fanboy since YOU're the one coming to this topic just to say that I'm wrong (and I'm not) about something I wrote about a service you obviously defending in other topics...

I guess you're just a happy Unotelly user, just like I am a happy Unblock-Us user, that doesn't mean you need to define somebody as a fanboy.

And like I said before, most important thing is that people are happy with the service they use, BUT, UnoTelly costs more if you want the same feature that with wUnblock-Us. That's a fact. If you don't agree with that, then you're not being honest.

That said, have a great weekend!

    Cheers.

Apparently no, but their website is really nice and super easy to read! (That's a thing that Unblock-Us could improve)
From what I've read they offers less services than Unblock-Us (that I know you use) but I think it's definitely a website to keep in our bookmarks to see how it goes in the future.
