The Fifth Element (blu ray) - still silly good fun

The Secret in Her Eyes - forgot I had already seen this, but watched the rest anyway. Still good.

Jane Eyre (latest adaptation) - easy on eye, but rather hollow. Some parts of the dialogue and some of Jane's reactions make no sense. I felt the scriptwriter or director was lazy for assuming we audience had already read the novel or seen earlier adaptations. Some parts of the film felt underdeveloped too, which I found father frustrating. The mystery around the wife was so underwhelming that I actually laughed at the climax. Also, Rochester and others kept saying Jane was strong, but she was a wet blanket. No spine, no brain. I mean, she was supposed to help
a wounded man by stopping the blood flowing heavily from his neck, but instead she wandered around and looked at a tapestry to investigate a strange sound while the poor sod lay there, bleeding away. :D

Abraham Lincoln the Vampire Hunter - I admit not paying attention to the story much as I was so focused on trying to figuring out what type of photography they used in the film, and whether it was a made-for-TV film. The colour palette mostly didn't work for me either. I don't understand why the film-maker adopted the digital photography approach. Editing and framing also threw me. Is it all to make it more like a documentary? I will watch it again, though. To focus on the damn story itself this time. :D

Lincoln - To borrow a phrase from Oscar Wilde, watching Lincoln was like a painfull duty. Very pretty but somewhat lacking in something.......entertainment value i think. 3/10 ( it looked nice)

Beasts Of The Southern Wild - This wasnt as horrible as it sounds in fact, had director done a bit of chopping later in the film 10/15 mins worth it could have been a great film. The kids dialogue and the score were both fantastic. 8/10

Honey I Shrunk The Kids, for first time in over 20 years. About 5.5/10.

Not as good as I remembered, drags a lot in the middle but rushes the end. Still good fun though and one of the better 80s or 90s family films.

    Just watched Alyce

    another horrid film about
these two girls , best friends, get drunk, and high on drugs decide they wanna go on the building roof, and they mess about..One girl then pretends to push her friend off, but she does..She's then in hospital other friend thinks she dead and not..so she then puts pillow to her face and suffocates her..then ''Alyce'' goes to get more drugs from these guys , she has no money so she sleeps with him..At her freinds funeral she all weird and they throw her out..The boyfriend wants her mobile phone back from Alyce, so she agrees to let him come to get it..Turns out she knifes him and pulls out his intestines..Then she cuts his arm off and puts it in the blender..think she trying dispose of his body :D, but just leaves his head on the floor.:D.Then the g'friend comes over, seeing the head on the floor , she screams, Alyce then whacks her with a basball bat and kills her with it..She then has two black bags supposed to be the druggie guys she kills, walks back into her appartment , when the police and caretaker are there, she turns round and looks at them and says ''What'' :D
The End :D.....that was the whole film i told :D

    'Megan is missing' 6/10
Supposed to be based on actual events. The film is put together as a series of home movie, video cam' shots etc these have been gathered together by the film maker from various friends, news sources etc. I don't really like this kind of thing, I suppose it's meant to make the thing seem more realistic and true to life, I think it makes it look cheap and ameteurish,
Having said all this, the film is a salutory lesson to teen's that the web is not a safe place.
Think Spiders and flies kiddies. ;)

The Iron Lady - 8/10 - great film, Meryl Streep was really fantastic as Margeret Thatcher, i wish there was more shown on the falklands war, liked seeing about her when she was younger, overall a good film if not all over the place at times

one thing i will say about Margeret Thatcher, love her or loathe her, she was a tough cookie

Mimic [1997]. Director: Guillermo del Toro

    7/10 (2012 Director's cut)

I've not seen the original release. The director's cut is typcial del Toro (he removed most of the 2nd unit scenes that Miramax shoehorned into the movie as well as restoring his own footage). One of the better giant insect movies.

    House of Wax (2005) - 5/10:
Better than I thought it would be. It had some good jumps and quite a creepy atmosphere. The writing and acting was iffy most of the time, as expected, but I liked the relationship between the main character and her brother, I liked the villains, and I thought some of the twists were fun (although predictable). It's equal parts eerie and hilariously stupid, just how I like my b-movies.:D

    Night of the Demon (1957) - 7/10:
Very atmospheric and well acted. It's the first time I've really seen Dana Andrews in a film, and I was really surprised by how much I loved him in this. He was amazing, even when fighting with a stuffed leopard! Obviously the effects are really dated, which wouldn't usually bother me, except in this case the film would have been a lot scarier without seeing the demon at all. It was generally well written, maybe a bit overwritten. There was a bit of an imbalance between silent scenes that up the tension and the amount of talking going on. Still, I really liked it and will definitely be looking up more films with Dana Andrews.

Flight - The film opens with a big black man in bed and a naked girl with a large chest wandering around. I thought it was a porno. 1/10

The Impossible - Many seem to rate this film, not me , after 40mins i wanted to push Naomi Watts back under the water, i did watch another watery disaster film in Beasts of TSW before this so was somewhat spoiled in this particular genre. 3/10
