I still think his funeral so far is a bit "ghetto". Not befitting his great musical standing. I sincerely hope there's something more in store to commemorate this great great entertainer.
In the 5th picture down it looks like his spirit (on the left) is having one last wail into the mic.
Its nice that people can go and pay their respects in a place where he made his name.
you'll like www.Celebritymorgue.com , www.celebritygraves.org and www.findagrave.com then, the 3rd one is better IMHO.
I'm not really into soul, so I didn't actually know who he was . But come to think of it, he was on Johnathon Ross earlier this year, I thought he was pretty scary looking but I didn't think he'd be dead in 6 months time
.....interesting.
No offense but do you enjoy looking at dead celebrities?
I remember watching that show and thinking how good he was for his age. He still put on a great set. Bless.
not particularly, but I stumbled across them while checking out why some celeb died and ended up getting some bad dreams from them
I like reading about stuff like that - I love the gossip - but the pics aren't my thing. Some of the pics on the mortuary slab or at death/murder scenes are quite disturbing, and I dont recommend them to people like me (who can't even watch ER without a big pillow to cover my face with )
Had he just been on holiday- if so it did him the world of good.
Its not strange to me. Its not a fascination for me just that the ones I've seen (my father's in a morgue), friends etc have been close to me and in the ceremony of the funerals - it is offered by the priest as a final form of paying respects.
I'm completely fine with it.
I've seen relatives myself but all I meant was it isn't something I would go out of my way to see, unless it was somebody I knew.
Well yes and no. If James Browns body was here in the UK I'd go and see it. Only because I was raised on his music, my parents loved his music and his music took pride of place during my upbringing. So, although I didnt know him personally, I would have liked to pay my last respects to him. Not out of morbid fascination - but because he was one of the greatest entertainers I've known in my lifetime so far.
Oh my god  Marilyn Monroe was quite scary  I am speechless that somebody actually researched these pictures and put on them on the internet.
James Brown wasn't from New York and didn't live there. But he did have memorable shows in the Apollo theatre in Harlem.
He's revered among African Americans because he urged them to be proud of who they were although he hung on to his straightened hair throughout his whole career life.
Rev. Al Sharpton, a NY a political activist of sorts and a spokesperson for the black community (and in one of those photos) adopted the same hairstyle back in the 70s out of respect for him.
But it did seem very creepy filming someone in a coffin, for two days and relaying it live on the News/around the world.
That picture was in a book about Marilyn Monroe years ago and I remember then thinking  !
Have you experienced death by any chance? Its a usual practice over here too that people go and see dead relatives and friends in their open coffins, in the morgue or closest relatives house. But its something you don't actually realise until you have experienced death yourself so for those who have been very lucky and never experienced someone dying then you don't actually know any different.
(Sorry if that sounds pushy or argumentative in any way, I couldnt think of better wording lol)
