there is no software in place
    ( its a blue tooth keyboard )

Android is the operating system. You should have an app on your home screen that says Play Store. The icon looks like a carrier bag with a right-facing arrowhead on it. That's where you go to get apps for your tablet.

THE carrier bag item says play store,
I hit it and sign comes up... no connection.

Just wondering does anyone do a bit of typing and word processing on their tab ?

I realise these tablets are used more for surfing the web, maybe a few short e mails ... or tweets !

The really neat thing about them is how fast you can get on the net... just a few seconds compared to a 5 min boot up for a desk top comp !

after just letting go of £200 for the tab,
I dont think I should be paying out even more money just to be able to type on the d.......d thing.

this looks a bit more promising

Found office suite in the free section
downloaded it ... only to discover its
    " free " for a 7 day trial !!!

There must be some way of doing a bit of typing on a tablet
without having to pay money to Google !!!

That's probably down to the problem you were going on about in your other thread "wi fi". Either you have a connection to the internet or you don't. That's the first thing to sort out. ;)

This one is free but it's very simple, similar to Notepad in Windows I imagine:

    Thanks for those 2 links

Ive been a bit frustrated with the blue tooth keyboard, think Id rather have a cable link to the keyboard,

I could nt get the keyboard to work, and yet the software was saying that it was pared up and connected.

In the end I shut down the tablet completely,
then rebooted and retried the blue tooth ..... bingo .. got it working.

Think I will glue something to the back to make my tablet
to make it a little more "tactile "
Maybe a piece of suede ?

got a wi fi tablet for Christmas.

Okay around the house (loads of music put on). But wondering outside home, would I be better getting a dongle or tethering (?) to a mobile (might involve a new mobile my mobile is about 5 years old,,,hardly use the thing).

Or say tomorrow just get out of bed at 4.55am switch router on and download a newspaper subscription...read it at work during lunch...guess will save money.
