A rare outing for this show on the BBC although always repeated on Gold  Episode 1 tonight so I assume it will be one a week.

They have shown Fawlty Towers a lot on Gold... still, it makes a change from OFAH. That is on every 3 minutes.

It may have been 37 years old but tonight's episode still made me laugh out aloud!
    Brilliant stuff!

Fawlty Towers is a great example of life in the seventies and how great society has changed since then.

Did they bleep out the word 'bastard' that Basil says in this episode?

I think the whole lot are on Netflix UK as well. Good to see it getting a repeat run on BBC TV though.

Felt like I was back at my nana's in the 90's, digging out the VHS volumes of Fawlty and spending my Sunday nights laughing my head off.

Any reason why it's getting a repeat on terrestrial at this point in time?

I'm sure we could think of lots of series that deserve a terrestrial repeat, in fact any repeat at all!

By the way, a early 70's series 'Clochmerle' got a repeat back in the 90's.

I'd never heard of it before then.

Was there any reason that got repeated at that point?

I've got the whole two series on DVD and think it's worth every penny.

I thought I was the only one to remember Clochmerle! I'd love to see it again! I remember laughing a lot, but I think it was in the 80s rather than the 90s. It seems like an awfully long time ago, and I was pretty young at the time.

It's brilliant comedy at it's very best.

The fact that even though we all know what's going to happen next doesnt stop us from creasing up laughing at some of the lines.

My particular favourite last night was "That's Brahms - Brahms' 3rd racket!"

Funny that just the other day, I thought of the "my fault" bit, when I had a row with my sister, to whom I was pointing out that various things she had done had made my life difficult - yes, it was apparently all my own doing!

I suspect the Thought Police would be round these days about portraying Irish as bad builders and Stubbs would probably be Polish.

I wonder how many of the guest stars of Fawlty Towers are still alive?

I heard that sadly the bloke who played the American tourist that wanted a Waldorf salad passed away
