The Snowtown Murders.. 7/10. Not bad, it was hard to hear much of what was being said for some parts due to the actors low key performances. I enjoyed it though, even though it was miserable and tough going. The lead actors were excellent.

    Super 8 (2011)

Very much an homage to those family-friendly Spielberg blockbusters of the 70s and 80s. Whilst I'm not an unreserved fan of the style, this is one of the best films I've seen so far on Netflix.

Rust & Bone - A nice film with an amazing performance by Marion Cotillad. I did lose interest in the second half though and wasn't bothered with how it ended.

The Woman In Black - Even though Daniel Radcliffe doesn't look old enough to be a lawyer and father of a four-year-old, I really enjoyed this. Eery, suspenseful and a good ending.

    8/10

Would been good if Christopher Lee had a cameo part.perhaps the solicitor !

The Croupier (1997) Dir Mike Hodges

Smart tale of a would be writer who takes a job at the gaming tables, intrigue follows. It would be remiss to outline the plot beyond that! Paul "the Man who Fell to Earth" Mayersberg script is terrific, smart and knowing with just the right number of plot twists. A fresh faced Clive Owen is just right as Jack, the scenes which show the mechanics of card based games at the casino are surprisingly gripping. Made by Film Four in Germany Croupier pretty disappeared without trace until it became a surprise cult success in the USA a few years after initial release.

Another film which makes one wonder why Mike Hodges has not had a more successful career.

The Eagle [2011]. Director: Kevin Macdonald

    7/10

Another movie about the fate of the 9th Roman Legion in Scotland (after the previous year's Centurian). With most of the Romans having American accents and the Scots having painted faces and Mohawk hairstyles this is a lot like cowboys and Indians with swords. Good fun, though.

Impossible- Brilliant film- 8/10. Special effects were superb and the acting especially by the boy who played the lead character was sublime.

    The Last Stand: 6/10

Entertaining enough comeback for Arnie :) Johnny Knoxville is rather annoying but the last 30 minutes are great and the best part of the movie :D

Quadrophenia - I enjoyed this on the TV the other night, being a historical film it has aged very well.
