I just thought that now Matt's Doctor is leaving, I was interested to know what people think are the most memorable moments of the 11th Doctor. Also, what do people think are the best episodes shown during his tenure?
My most favourite moment was when The Doctor was eating fish fingers and custard and Little Amelia Pond was eating ice cream. It made me smile a lot.

Also the Pandorica Opens and the Big Bang is possibly my most favourite story of Matt's era.

My least favourite episode is Vampires In Venice, although Dinosours on a Spaceship comes a close second.

My Top 20 Eleventh Doctor Stories
01 - A Christmas Carol by Steven Moffat (Series 6)
This episode felt like something out of a Terry Pratchett novel. It has impressive effects to pull off an alien world, but they were never forced in your face very much. The cast was quite small and intimate, and Matt Smith really came into his own when he acted off of Michael Gambon. This is one of my favourite episodes of Doctor Who, and is the Christmas episode I would put on to show off the programme's more successful festive side.
02 - The Doctor's Wife by Neil Gaiman (Series 6)
Never before have I been sceptical about the success of a particular episode and gone on to be wowed like I was with this. Despite being a fan of Gaiman, I really didn't think I wanted to see the Tardis in human form...it was beyond the realms of Doctor Who's version of credibility and nobody could nail the performance. How wrong I was! Suranne Jones stole the show, and there were some amazing treats in this one, but Smith himself delivered his finest emotive performance to date in this one and wouldn't better that performance in the sixth series.
03 - Asylum of the Daleks by Steven Moffat (Series 7)
The Daleks were "back" in this episode, in the sense I'd been waiting for since Series 1... the Daleks that were interesting and slightly menacing. Series 4 had teased it, but it took Matt Smith and a Dalek-doomed companion-to-be to give me what I wanted. This episode looks amazing, it was written brilliantly and I just love everything about it.
04 - The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang by Steven Moffat (Series 5)
I wasn't expecting a massive all-out kitchen-sink-included finale with Moffat, especially in his debut year. But the fifth series finale remains the finest to date. Part of that lies with it being a two-parter, part of it lies with River Song wearing her finest outfit, and part of it lies with Matt Smith's performance. It took me until around 42 before I fully embraced Tennant as The Doctor, but watching this story made me realise how fast I'd adapted and enjoyed watching Matt Smith in the role.
05 - Vincent and the Doctor by Richard Curtis (Series 5)
Whilst I wish the producers had been more daring and had actually allowed a purely historical story just this once, VatD is a brilliant story and a love-letter to Van Gogh. Smith has his moments here, but it is Tony Curran as the tormented artist that delivers the striking performance. And there is seldom mention to the design team, who do an astounding job of recreating some iconic Van Gogh images in-episode. That in itself was clever, the story didn't sugarcoat bipolar disorder like I guessed it would, it found a new creative way of embracing CGI and the location filming in Croatia paid off big time.
06 - The Crimson Horror by Mark Gatiss (Series 7)
I haven't much to say about this episode so far, but that's because it hasn't been around long enough for me to appreciate it to its full potential. All the more reason why it impresses me that it makes my favourite ten. It is my second favourite Mark Gatiss story after The Unquiet Dead, and I felt this episode mixed the witty and dramatic with the absolutely totally bonkers. In a roundabout way it worked, and Gatiss delivered the period setting wonderfully once again.
07 - Let's Kill Hitler by Steven Moffat (Series 6)
It was fast paced and the wittiest script that Moffat delivered. It saw the origins of River Song, forgot about Hitler and made me like Rory for a little while. Matt Smith delivers a comical appearance here, and in such a dramatic and important story I understand why it was so divisive. But it was so incredibly snappy and fun that there was no way it wasn't making this list.
08 - The Girl Who Waited by Tom McRae (Series 6)
One of the most emotional stories of Moffat's era so far in my opinion, this is easily Karen Gillan's best performance. Even if the prosthetics weren't up to scratch in every scene, she carried this minimalistic dilemma of an episode almost entirely by herself. Smith's Doctor took a darker turn at this point, which was something we'd see stick throughout the remainder of Series 6 and much of Series 7.
09 - The Beast Below by Steven Moffat (Series 5)
This episode doesn't get a lot of love, and even I denied it any attention for a while after I first saw it. Since then, it has oddly transformed into 'top ten' material for me, perhaps with more appropriate standards. Matt Smith is a bit awkward settling into the role here, but it adds to the story in a sort of way. Liz Ten is a brilliant character I wished we could have properly seen again and the plot was quite different to anything we'd seen before. I really wish we could have a second great adventure aboard the Starship UK.
10 - The Angels Take Manhattan by Steven Moffat (Series 7)
Despite being full of plot holes, this episode makes the list for a number of reasons that for most episodes don't quite cut it. The location filming is generally superb and isn't in your face aside from perhaps one scene, the plot is an intriguing one and twists and turns too, and Murray Gold gave it his all here. Above all else though, it made me care about Amy leaving, which considering she is the weakest companion of Nu-Who to date for me is quite impressive. It didn't manage to make me care about Rory, but then maybe if it did and maybe if it was afforded the two episodes it deserved then it would have found itself higher up the list.
11 - The Name of the Doctor by Steven Moffat (Series 7)
12 - The God Complex by Toby Whithouse (Series 6)
13 - The Rings of Akhaten by Neil Cross (Series 7)
14 - The Lodger by Gareth Roberts (Series 5)
15 - A Town Called Mercy by Toby Whithouse (Series 7)
16 - The Vampires of Venice by Toby Whithouse (Series 5)
17 - The Curse of the Black Spot by Stephen Thompson (Series 7)
18 - Amy's Choice by Simon Nye (Series 5)
19 - The Eleventh Hour by Steven Moffat (Series 5)
20 - The Snowmen by Steven Moffat (Series 7)
The End of Time Part 2. (minus the last minute or so)
I agree with just about all of that, I'd just move stuff a round a little, maybe replace one or two episodes for another.
(Emphasis mine.)
Amen. Many Moffat era stories deserved more episodes than they received and they were the lesser for it. The Angels Take Manhattan and A Good Man Goes to War are the most glaring examples of this but there are others.
Best episode starring Matt Smith?
The End of Time Part 2. (minus the first 53 minutes or so):D:D
Sorry couldn't resist
Lets kill Hitler
Dinosaurs on a spaceship
Vincent and the doctor
A Christmas Carol
The lodger

...Get out.
Hilarious. You anti-Smith posters could at least try being constructive in your criticism rather than obnoxious.
The Eleventh Hour. Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone. Amy's Choice. The Lodger. Vincent & The Doctor. Pandorica Opens/Big Bang. A Christmas Carol. The Impossible Astronaut. The Doctor's Wife. Girl Who Waited. God Complex. Asylum of the Daleks. A Town Called Mercy. The Snowmen. Hide. The Crimson Horror. Name of the Doctor....
yup, bit of a fan of this era.
I personally feel that the finales have suffered a little bit, since the loss of two-parters. The Wedding of River Song was the biggest victim for me, and though The Name of the Doctor fared a bit better I feel that's only because it leads into the 50th and thus is formatted more like a two-parter.
A two-part finale feels like an event... a one part finale feels like a footnote. I can never decide if I'm totally amazed or totally underwhelmed by The Angels Take Manhattan for that very reason - as a two parter I feel it would have been the biggest story Nu-Who has managed - location filming, River Song, departure of two companions, the Weeping Angels... if everything had had more of a presence it could have been sensational.
As it is only your opinion I won't argue but is only your opinion
