    Mmmm.
I could see him as Liberace actually.
I think he could give a good performance.

    Excellent choice.

Why is it some good looking actors when they get old look like old women? Michael Douglas does, so he'll be great as Liberace.

LMFAO. Is Catherine Zeta going to play one of his simpering poodles? Oh hang on she's doing that already in real life.

    Hmmm... interesting.
He's a fine actor but not sure I can see him as a great entertainer and showman like Liberace but who knows :)

Douglas's cancer may also have had something to do with it. (Speculation, I don't know if it did.)

i thought this was a new thread :p 5 years old, wow

the films with MD are either swearing and having sex in, so will this still happen :D

Michael Douglas is a good actor but all he does is swear and have sex :p

Its been shown at Cannes and is being shown on HBO on 26th May.

I saw a trailer for it in Cineworld earlier so its being released in cinemas too. Not sure when though or if it is a nationwide or limited release.

I've just seen a few clips of it on Newsnight.

Michael Douglas looks very impressive indeed in the part.
From the few clips I saw I wouldn't be surprised if his performance turns out to be award winning.

But apparently it's not being distributed in America, because it is felt that there won't be an audience for this type of film.
By the way it's directed by Steven Soderbergh

There was a clip shown on Graham Norton's show on Friday, though the attention seemed to be on Rob Lowe, it does look like it could be a fun watch.

If it's on TV in the US, won't any swearing etc. be cut? I'd rather see it in full than some chopped up verison.

I saw it this afternoon and wasn't impressed. Self indulgent twaddle. He wanted to turn Scott into a clone of himself. I turned it off after half an hour or so.

Saw it earlier and theres swearing plus its pretty racey in parts.

I thought it was very good. It didnt try too hard to be funny and the interplay between the two was mesmerizing. Douglas was charm personified and Matt Damon played oversensitive to a tee.

Amazing acting all round. A bit too racy for my mum though! Great movie.
