went to see this tonight and I gotta say I thought it was OK in a strangely hypnotic way but it's full of boobs and ass and crotch shots, thrown over a pumping soundtrack..
brother hated it, but I do see the cult following it may get.
some funny bits in it and James franco is good also.

I loved the Britney Spears song montage scene, standout scene of the movie in my opinion.
8.5/10 for me, although it should be stressed that it definitely wont be for everyone, there were a couple of walk outs in my showing (mainly older people).
Loads of phrases repeated and the quick changing between shots was weird.
I agree about the hypnotic sensation, I ended up enjoying it!
Great poster, great trailer, great soundtrack, great cinematography.......terrible film.
If you enjoyed the hypnotic sensation throughout, then you will probably really enjoy 'Enter the Void' by Gaspar Noé.
Amongst recent films that I've seen - if you liked the 'Paperboy', you will probably like this.
Not sure how this got a mainstream cinema release.
The 18 certificate was odd as well (perhaps some obscure BBFC rule about not allowing crack cocaine use in a 15 certificate film).
Otherwise there was nothing there in terms of language . sexual content, violence that you wouldn't find in most recent 15 certifucate films.
Adults / teens looking for some Piranha 3d/ DD style cheap sexual thrills will be disappointed........ Those looking for a violent heist thriller will be disappointed......... Those looking for some weird druggy arthouse film experience will lap it up.
It didn't Vertigo are indie distributor with a wide release field
It will be the uncritical portrayal of drug use that pushed it from a 15 to an 18.
Although I haven't seen many recently to know if they're being consistent with that.
You can be slightly more uncritical of soft drug use at a 15 though. There's a comment in 21 Jump Street about "marijuana" (cannabis to British people) improving parties. They got away with it because the rest of the film is about taking a drugs ring down and how bad drugs are...
I thought this would be like Project X/Piranha. Think I'll give this one a pass now
I'm surprised that the BBFC write up doesn't make note of the scene where a character is forced to suck on a loaded gun barrel in a sexual manner, the same type of scene in the recent 'I Spit on Your Grave' remake received cuts to a similar scene (although granted, the outcome in each film is very different, with the character in Spring Breakers ultimately seen to be enjoying it, while the I Spit on Your Grave scene is part of a graphic rape scene).
And TH14, it is absolutely nothing like Project X or Piranha, it's much darker and more "artsy" than those films. It's also not a comedy, I'd describe it more as a dark drama focusing on what happens when four spoiled brats go very bad.
I suppose context would be the major issue, because there was a similar scene, with friend chicken rather than a gun in Killer Joe, which was quite problematic and got the film an NC-17 in the States...
But
Absolutely brilliant film although I get the impression that the director doesn't want you to enjoy it - deliberately jarring editing and music. Can't fault the acting - particular Hudgens ("This money makes my pussy wet") and James Franco (Britneys "Everytime" solo on the piano!!!)I need to see this again soon!!
I enjoyed 21 Jump Street but I think the film makers are taking the piss if they claim it's about how bad drugs are. The film is basically saying that drugs are fun, with a very tongue-in-cheek nod to the possibility that some people might have a bad time.
Well, the BBFC came the conclusion that the film wasn't glamorising drugs without input from Sony. If they felt it was, they'd give it an 18 and Sony would cut it to get a 15 (a la Pineapple Express)
I thought it was gonna be like a trash rom-com with sex and booze, but it's a dark gritty thriller underneath all the boobs and blondes. James Franco gives an incredible performance, to the point where you forget it is him. The four leading ladies are brilliant as well and it's lovely to see Demi and Vanessa do such adult roles
Really do not understand the hate, as parts of the film are very much depicted true to life.
I think this will become a bit of a cult classic.
I love the editing, the continuous loop of the music throughout the whole film and just everything
i think he may of meant Selena Gomez.
brilliant film, great directing and cinematography, a cool soundtrack and as loads have mentioned it was just hypnotic.
the ending may have been a tad unrealistic but other than that i loved it.
