I think it was probably Abbott and Costello who made over 40 films together. Can anyone think of anyone who have made more films together.
They were obviously a double act, so is there anyone who were not really connected who made a lot of films together.

Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter have now appeared in a really alarming number of films together, they need to give it a rest for a while. Off the top of my head, they're both in:
- Alice in Wonderland
- Sweeney Todd
- Corpse Bride
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- Dark Shadows
- The Lone Ranger (this year)
And I'm sure I'm forgetting a few there.
There's a reasonable likelihood there are greater numbers of couplings in Indian, or possibly even Japanese, cinema.
That's true, I think they probably made about 20 films together. And Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers made a lot together as well.
Just had a look on Wikipedia and they did nine consecutive films together in 1938 (!!), but it's not clear how many sporadic little films they did after that. I'll keep looking.
Good shout with Ginger and Fred, but I don't think they actually made as many films as it seems.
Top Hat (35)
Swing Time (36)
Carefree (38)
Flying Down To Rio (33)
Follow The Fleet (36)
Story Of Vernon & Irene Castle (39)
Shall We Dance (37)
The Barkleys Of Broadway (49)
Gay Divorce (34)
I've possibly missed a couple out.
And lagging way behind:
Judy and Gene Kelly made 3.
Robert Redford and Jane Fonda made 3.
Thanks, I always thought it was more than that:)
Thanks. I forgot Penny Singleton and Arthur Lake, they made 38 Blondie films together.
Thanks
Are you just meaning feature films or does short films count?
Laurel & Hardy appeared together in 107 films. They starred in 32 short silent films, 40 short sound films, 23 full-length feature films, and made 12 guest or cameo appearances.
John Wayne and Maureen O' Hara in five
Katherine Hepburn made several with Spencer Tracy, Cary Grant
The Mickey Mouse/Silly Symphonies films definitely count in my book, so Mickey and Minnie (and Donald) have been in hundreds together.
I'm not too well up on silent cinema but I think there's probably a lot of big partnerships in there, considering the production rate in those days.
Sean Connery and Bernard Lee (6)
That's the best I can do
On that note, Roger Moore and Lois Maxwell (7). Surprised you missed that one!
Only two suprisingly Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid and The Sting
Way down on those would be the cast of the carry on movies - I'm sure you can find 2 of them that we're in most of those films, probably Kenneth Williams and Charles Hawtry.
Carry on wise Kenneth Williams was in 21 Carry on films with Charles Hawtrey and 21 with Joan Sims.
