If Brian hadn't won UBB, would he still be the C5 host?

I think if Brian hadn't won UBB or even taken part in it then he wouldn't be hosting BB. C5 only wanted him as host because he was the 'ultimate fan favourite' according to the UBB placings.
I still think that Emma would've got the main show job if it wasn't for Brian winning UBB. They seriously need to switch roles, Brian is so much more natural when he's on BOTS, and Emma would be more in her comfort zone on the main show.

He did and he is.
Thank you captain obvious. You would've never guessed from the thread title that Brian actually won UBB, would you?
Shall we meet our first housemate? It's SALLY BERCOW.
WHO IS SHE. WHO IS SHE. WHERE DID YOU FIND HER, WHO IS SHE?"
However, unless he had won he wouldn't have been offered the host's job he seriously isn't fit for in the first place and therefore his inept performance wouldn't be witnessed.
I'd be interested to watch Emma in the job.
OMG can you imagine her doing the interviews?!
Have you missed the point of a discussion board?
Imagine if Josie hadn't walked, she probably would've won UBB and be hosting BB now *shudders*
They should give Brian Belomore of a involved role as he is obsessed with the show, and it's nice to see super-fan HM's getting involved on BOTS or whatever
That would be the very last straw to make me finally give up completely.
I agree with you. We would have surely been told at the time that whoever won UBB would also become the new presenter if it ever came back.
No, not really, because Channel 4 tried to bury it in the ground and say it was the last ever series, trying to persuade us that it was never coming back, and then a year later it returned on Channel 5 with Brian as host. Channel 4 didn't want anyone to take over it, they just wanted to end it so they did their whole 'BB funeral' thing.
Besides, I doubt Davina would've said on the very last episode "Oh, Brian, if Big Brother ever comes back on a different channel then you'll host it!" because A) They wouldn't want to advertise for a rival channel and They were attempting to finish it off completely and there was no mention whatsoever on BB11 or UBB that there was a possibility of it returning.
I'd love to see her on BBBOTS. She did see last summer's CBB, based on the tweets I saw (and plus Julian Clary's a friend of hers), so I think she'd make some useful contribution to the panel.
Awww you're making me feel sad.:( Damn you C5, why could you not make Davina host! I miss her so much. If she came back, I would forgive C5 for everything they have done wrong so far.
Yeah, she said she'd turned it down because Channel 4 already gave her a big send off at the end of the show and she didn't want to come back because she had already said her goodbyes and had a good cry about it. Plus she said that she wanted to spend more time with her family, and she was unable to do that as BB took over her summer.
Yeah that would be awful wouldn't it. Let's not turn BB into an even bigger freak show, it's bad enough that BBBOTS exists, let's not ruin the main show even further.
Me too! On a rainy eviction night, she'd be ranting about being too cold and wet!
I suspect this to be a big factor.
The fact that he by winning UBB gives him the honorific title of "ultimate housemate", fondly remembered from BB2 and had a presenting career it seems a good idea but I'd imagine Brian would be cheap and eager to be the decider to have him host the main show,
I mean when was the last time he had a regular TV gig? I think maybe it was his voice on those ads for New magazine were we'd hear him say "read about Kerry Katona's amazing weight loss this week in New" or something like that. Prior to that it was probably that Circus thing on SKY1 that Grace won. He needed the work.
They would've been flawless presenters Two of the best housemates of all time.
