ITV just couldn't resist it - the little DOG.

I notice since ITV has changed it's logo it's suddenly had a DOG appear in the top left hand corner of the screen.
The funny thing is that it's not quite as noticible as the ones on ITV2, 3 and 4 which suggests that whoever's bright idea it was to put it on the main ITV channel thought, or knows that the public on the whole detest them. If that's the case why put it on there in the first place?
What is it with TV channels and this obsession they have with DOGS. It's not as if we don't know what channel we're watching for gods sake. However did we manage back in the 80s in the good old pre-DOG days. The amount of confusion there was over what channel we were watching was terrible.
At least the BBC still haven't put one on BBC1 or 2.

Digital Onscreen Graphic, the little "ITV" in the upper left hand corner during programmes.
Now I feel stupid
Don't all channels do that
:D:D
Channels 1-4 didn't until ITV started, they annoyed me to begin with but I got accustomed to them.
Noooooo, if you don't know the acronym then why wouldn't you expect a dog? Although the pug they use in the continuity announcements is rather cute
That's pretty much my response on this topic along with at least 80% of threads on here.
I had to reread the thread twice to work out why you felt stupid. How stupid does that make me?
oh and I didnt know what DOG meant, I also looked for a cute little puppy lol
I suspect the OP knew that, but just wanted the opportunity to explain it all to us. Because we are all stupid and need teaching.
They have on iPlayer though.
LMAO
Lol same here, mental picture of an ITV programme really wondered if I needed some new glasses as I definitely hadn't seen a dog on my picture.
However as I now know what it stands for I can say I don't actually like the new DOG with the joined up writing for ITV channels.
