Urban Legends in Video Games

What are the strangest urban legends you have heard about games, mine would have to be the numerous way people used to make up about how to keep aerith alive in Final Fantasy VII and the lies about GTA games

I remember when GTA III came out and people in school and other places mentioned there was a way to get from liberty city to disneyland of all places

Bigfoot hiding in the trees in one of the PS2 Tiger Woods games, never found it though.

Not so much an urban myth but a hoax I remember was an Amiga mag (probably One Amiga) bringing news in their April issue of a new super powerful Amiga called the A1(M). They even photoshopped the letters "APRILFOOLS" across the shot of the keyboard, although it was small enough not to notice.

The Madden Curse really exists though, the players never play as well as they did or they get injured after being on the cover.

I've still got memories when 2 of my Brothers tried endlessly for the cheat to work (I'm sure Lara used to explode or something??). I also remember my Dad bringing in FHM one day for them

I heard that one too. I think the story was that if you had a Pokemon who knew Strength in your party you could use it on the truck to move it and then Mew would be underneath it and you could catch him. I did try to get to the truck using a glitch I read about to be able to access the area after the SS Anne had supposedly sailed away, but there was nothing under the truck. The truck was left in the Red/Blue remakes (FireRed and LeafGreen) and there was a Lava Cookie item under it, but no Mew.

Pokemon Red and Blue were full of fascinating urban legends and glitches
