Charging Mobile

I recently got a new mobile and whilst charging it up it occurred to me that both my laptop and ultrabook have a setting on them that allows the battery to be charged up to 80% and no further.

This is claimed to increase battery life - is the same true for batteries in phones?

It increases the overall battery lifespan by trading off some battery life from each charge.

AFAIK, no phones have such an option, most likely due to a combination of the battery life of handsets being a matter of some dissatisfaction anyway plus the fact that people don't expect to keep phones as long as they do laptops.

if the phone and charger are any kop they will really slow the charge down between 80% to 100% anyway.

Dont worry about it, enjoy your phone.
