The price reduction that was recently announced literally only went into effect on Friday, with the release of Zelda WWHD, so I imagine there won't be another price cut at the moment (they'll probably wait a few months after Christmas to see how MK8 and SSBU perform before even beginning to consider another price cut).
Games for multiple players & kids:
NintendoLand,
New Super Mario Bros,
Disney Infinity,
New Super Luigi U (although this is harder than NSMBU, so would probably depend on the age of your kids - there is nabbit though who takes no damage),
Sonic Lost World (out later this month),
Sonic and Sega All Stars Transformed
then not released yet:
Wii Fit U (or at least the kids in my family loved the mini games on the original Wii Fit )
Super Mario 3D World,
Mario Kart 8,
Super Smash Bros,
Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze.

Thanks for a great reply, so looking around £250 for the premium console and a game is the new price? I thought they were cheaper than that to be honest.

Really, I'd probably wait until Xmas time to see if any good bundles come up. I seem to remember that when I picked up my Wii U in January time, HMV had some really nice deals for the U, so could be worth checking there.
I also forgot Wii U Party, which comes out later this year, Should be great fun for kids
