But everybody does that. It's completely normal.
We see a bit about a programme and decide if we think we'll watch it or not.
If that's precisely the sort of reaction Gervais ridicules then that would be a ridiculous position to take.
People have to discriminate and make a judgement call about upcoming programmes due to air otherwise everybody would watch every single programme that appears on TV.
No we wouldn't.
We watch what we are interested in . If we decide not to watch something because of clips thats fair enough but that then removes out right to make any comment or judgements upon it .
The post I replied to has made a judgement on the content- not just a decision whether to watch .
Richard Bacon on Radio 5 live I'm guessing.
MoS, again guessing Mail on Sunday, 'write up'.
I won't be watching, unless I stumble across it.
Just thought I'd see how irate people can get about Gervais, because other people are into him and sing his praises.
...............
Thanks - I'm not up on references to modern media, I'm afraid.
I'll probably watch the first episode, and see how I like it. What I look forward to most is the OTT reaction on here to anyone who dares to criticise it in the slightest way.

Not necessarily, the thread for Life's Too Short was mainly negative, even die hard Gervais fans weren't keen overall.
I heard Bacon's show and the three guests and Bacon all loved it.
However on Radio 4 Front Row Mark Lawson and his guest both disliked it, not because of any worry about bad taste, but they said that for a comedy drama it was neither funny nor dramatic.
So it seems as if we are going to have the now usual split opinion about post-Extras Gervais.
There's certainly a lot of hostility towards Gervais and not just the downmarket tabloids.
I do wish people would shut the **** up comparing one character in one show with another.
He tried that, sadly for him no-one wanted to watch them.
The one about the dentist is one of the very few films I've not managed to make it the whole way through, and boy have I watched some crap.In Gervais' defence he didn't write that one, although his acting certainly didn't help.
Ghost Town was actually one of the best films of the year. I know a few people who are not fans who were surprised how good it was. And rather moving as well.
But you wouldn't know that as you only saw part of it.
I rather agree with what they said on Front Row that the 'problem' is now Gervais himself being so overwhelmingly Ricky Gervais rather than a character. I am not a big fan but I acknowlege his talent and loved him doing the Awards, but he is such a 'big' personality that he just becomes the show. Maybe he should concentrate on the writing instead, but I do think it's going to be a problem for him.

I don't comment on the things I don't watch .
I really enjoyed Cemetary Junction.

Which didn't stop a few of the fans criticising anyone who expressed dissatisfaction.
Oops, I think you're right. Okay...I'll watch the one episode, then.

Please no one be surprised, you can just tell it's going to happen.
Haters gonna hate, welcome to you all.
I'm watching and I'm completely openminded.
Not a bad start so far.
