Considering a 3DS...

Dug out my old DS the other day and it's ignited my interest in the 3DS for newer games. I've been off the Nintendo radar for a good few years and was wondering what you guys thought about it and if anyone has any recommendations for games?

Are old Nintendo games available for downloading onto it?

Ta!

The 3DS also comes with a charger? And the 2DS loses the 3D capabilities, which kind of defeats the object really.

I'd recommend getting a 3DS even if it's just for the new Pokemon games! ;)

Yes, 3DS comes with charger, 3DS XL doesn't (apparently Nintendo sees the XL as a direct upgrade from the 3DS and assume everyone buying an XL already owns a 3DS - which of course, is bollocks, but whatever. Chargers are cheap enough to pick up extra (£4.50ish)

Game made me laugh the other day, a Pokemon X Y 3DS XL...

a little confused:confused: as the game hasent been released yet...

the manager said it came with both X and Y :confused::confused:

then he said he meant the colour scheme..

    no game
    no charger

    fail:cry:

Ha, yeah, I've seen the Pokemon 3DS units on Amazon. Look good but, yeah, no game! I'd considered the 2DS but what with the travelling I do for work I just thought the 3DS would be easier to shove in my bag...

Also, I'd read that the old DS charger works with the 3DS, is that right?

No, I think its only the DSi charger that will work with a 3DS/XL

No, the connectors are different. The DSi chargers work though.

I bought the Pokemon 3DS XL mentioned above. Been looking to get and XL for a while now and despite not having played Pokemon since Red/Blue over 10 years ago, the design was nice so I went for it. Was shocked when I saw it came with no charger and was region locked (the DS you could play games from the US, meaning I imported quite a lot).

    Games I'd recommend:

    Pokemon X/Y
    Fire Emblem (Brilliant strategy/rpg)
Zelda Ocarina Of Time (quite possibly the best game of all time)
Super Mario 3d Land (It's decent, the one problem I have with it is the length being too short)
    Star Fox (Extremely addictive)
