Or invest in black cat tattoo salve.
Prep H doesn't have the right ingredient in it anymore.
I'm really shocked your tattoo artist didn't give you good advice!
And lookourapiano, as I already mentioned, Preparation H used to be good for tattoos but the certain ingredient in it that made it good, is no longer used.
Well, I did say Vaseline could be used in an emergency, but I wouldn't recommend it for permanent use either. Shame about Preparation H, it was great, even if I did get some funny looks from the chemist!
When I got my tattoo done my tattooist (the guy that did the indian ink tattoos for Brad Pitts character in Snatch) recommended vaseline, and some clingfilm over the top for a couple of days. worked for me - two years on and it's lost no colour.
Hehe when i had my first tat done a couple of years ago, I sent my step-dad out for the Prep H :P
Then I was given Black Cat by a tattooist friend of mine, and it's fantastic. Used it on my second one, it was lovely and soothing ^_^
My tattooist said the best thing was a really really hot flannel and soapy water...
I don't thing makes any difference to the outcome of the tattoo. You just need to find something to make it comfortable for a few days.
Is the ingredient ommitted from all pile creams now or just prep h?
Definitely, without a doubt the best thing I've ever used for tattoos - even beats tattoo goo which I used once and thought was ace as well!!
I had a tattoo done about 8 weeks ago on my wrist and it was healed over in about 7 days, no scab, no nothing, it's great!
