Not going to go calling it a fix or anything, but does anyone else find it awfully suspicious how the chaser always whizzes through the last few questions? I've noticed far too many times they start off really slowly and even get a few wrong but at the end the speed they go at is ridiculous, even answering before the full question is asked sometimes. It's the polar opposite to the contestants final chase where they start off good but stall at the end as (I presume) the questions get harder.
I wouldn't even put it down to the set of questions the contestants pick as I don't think I've ever seen a show where the contestants start off slow and get them all right at the end.
From doing some video evidence from tonights show.
Paul Sinha Had 2 minutes to answer 22 questions
Paul completed his 22 questions with only 0.315 seconds to spear (0.7 seconds on the editing suite).
Therefore, Paul Sinha WINS The Chase for today.
Hope that solves everything lol
Yep if you count down 5-4-3-2-1 with the clock, Paul will say 'Caan' a split second before you say zero.
Also to a poster earlier the chaser only needs to get the same number of questions as the contestants, that's the idea of getting 'caught' by the chaser.
Gutting for the contestants to be on the wrong end of a £17k swing in those circumstances though, must gave been horrible.
Saying "it's a bit before my time" is really no excuse for not knowing a History question.
If a question related to the Jurrasic period came up, one could hardly claim it was a "bit before my time" or how many wives did King Henry VIII have?

Quite right, David. I know how many wives Henry Vlll had and I'm not quite 400 years old yet.
Er, it only started two weeks ago, so of course it is.
I think VQ was referring to the earlier series originally hosted by Roy Walker from 1986 to 2002 rather than the revamp currently being aired. So your comment "Er course it is" was a bit off the mark:p

Said the same thing to my husband. It was before most of the viewers time but isn't that why we learn history at school?

What about the two £28,800 wins in Catchphrase? That was piss-easy money!
