Worth the wait then...
2Mps - 12Mps which is rather slow.
We're talking about O2 here, that's blazing fast for them.
They will begin advertising 2Mbps are lighting speeds!
(September 1st at the earliest)
Is that O2? How you know?
Thanks
Probably testing but no doubt want it launched to coincide with a new EU LTE iPhone launch in September.
This new video, together with recent rumours/claims that O2 were planning to launch 4G at the end of June beginning of July makes me confident this is the case. Also, one will notice in the Video that O2 says 4G SIMs will be available in stores from June, which we know to be true as a DS Forum member got one from in store (I've also seen others on twitter who got one).
But every sim is 4G ready.....
right?
(unless it's old)
Also i doubt 4G will be ready this month. I'd say early september
Nope, you need a new 4G provisioned sim.
Im confident my ye olde fashioned 3G sim for Three wont need changed
Exactly my thinking.
I find it odd that a new sim is required. Makes sense on EE4G or if the customer has an old sim from years ago.
im not knowledgeable in mobile phone networks and the technicalities of how they operate, but could it be possible that something on the SIM would need to enable the connectivity to the 4G part of the network?
didn't 3G require a new SIM (USIM as they were called)? If this suggestion that because 4G is just the hardware in the phone, why did 3G need a new SIM?
If you look on other providers sites, such as Optus in Australia, they don't require customers to change sim cards to go from 3G to 4G.
That doesn't apply here
