EE have launched their first MiFi device the Huawei E5776. This may be useful if you want to test the waters with 4G without too much of commitment. These devices can be usefully especially if you mobile network has poor 3G coverage Or if you want to do away with your landline.

Only trouble is the data is so fast you can eat your 8gb up before the month is out LOL

Maybe not on 4G mate. Limited cap of 8GB is lower than BT's lowest package of 10GB which they don't even sell anymore.
@paulkner- won't make a difference to 3G or 4G speeds today.
I use about 8-12Gb per month so its not for me. But if you are a low user then perhaps this is OK.
EE will be doing a trial of LTE Advanced towards the end of this year and this device can take advantage of higher speeds offered when this service comes online.
Which probably won't be until this time next year and in select markets only.
Besides. do you really need a boost from 40Mbps to 80Mbps.... It's not like going from 1mbps to 10mbps where you notice the speed boost.
Not quite 150Mb more like 130Mb (under perfect lab based conditions)

130 = 150 here. They are the same thing, just a different way of stating it. 150 is physical Layer 1, 130 is the end user max. See the notes at the end of the link you posted.
Yes fair enough. You will never see 130Mb in real conditions but its nice to dream
Damn, my iPhone is only cat 3 and already obsolete even before I have LTE here
Probably best to see what Three offer.
The new one (E5776) does 5Ghz & 2.4Ghz (300) wifi so it could easily give the full 80 Mbps for now.
I can't find the where it says its a 5 ghz wifi device. So annoyed. I sent back my 18 month contract mifi and then rebought it when the 30 day plans came out. Now I have a much slower device.
Is the linked HUAWEI E5776 could work with EE SIM card?

Seems I made a mistake, it's the even newer version that is 5ghz. This one is 300mbps 2.4ghz. So should be faster than the E589 which is limited to 20mbps.
Ive ordered the new version as they gave me it for £29. Going to sell the E589.
yes, I am mental
Ta
EE uses their own network for 4G. Having a MiFi unit will let you connect up to 8 devices to use the one 4G connection, so you can connect tablets, laptops etc.
4G will be faster speed when compared to 3G, much faster.
