Michael Shannon...and I still reckon if ever they do a Bond film and bring back Jaws he is a dead ringer for Richard Kiel.

Mind you, though he has that sort of face that means he kind of looks like a villain and a killer and will probably be offered a lot of those sort of roles.

But I did really enjoy him in Take Shelter, because he does have that 'haunted' look about him that makes him perfect for that sort of role as well.

Hmmm...some strange choices here, which lead me to believe some people have only seen a couple of movies where certain actors happened to have played villains.

Such is the case with Ed Harris...he's played a few villains, but not that many. I will always remember him mainly as the wholesome John Glenn in The Right Stuff, the head of mission control in Apollo 13, and Virgil Brigman in The Abyss.

And Jon Voight has played a few baddies, but is hardly saddled with a reputation for it.

And Shia Lebouef? Struggling to think of a movie where he has even played a baddie.

And I would not describe ANY of these actors as scary looking.

The thread topic isn't "Actors who have always played villains".

As for you picking apart everyone else's choices, why not add your own? Each opinion is as valid as the next.

Firstly I did add my own.

And if we examine the thread title literally...scary looking actors who should always play villains.

    Firstly why should they?

    Second...Jon Voight...Shia Lebeouf...Ed Harris...scary?

My point still stands, that the impression I have of the person who started the thread is they have only seen a very limited number of movies where certain actors have only played villains.

    But still...Shia Lebeouf?

So you answered the question exactly how others are and nominated Michael Shannon.... then came back 45 mins later to dismiss the topic?

Please advise what is going on in your head.

    Jason Isaacs.

He's not a bad "hero" but he just suits a villain so much more.

Good one, however I have always been amused by the fact that a character that uses somebody's intestines to abseil down the side of a building originated from 'Spy Kids'. :D

Robert Rodriguez has got a great sense of humour.

Lee Van Cleef. Especially when he smiles, he looks positively Satanic.

I think Paul Dano does the best job at playing weirdos, not sure about the villains as such

Interesting to see Willem Dafoe mentioned here. Makes his casting in The Last Temptation of Christ seem odder.
