Ok spent the past 2 hours trying to sort Adobe flash plugin crashed error out. Using the latest firefox browser 16.02 all my plugins are upto date it seems. Got the latest Adobe flashplugin 11.5.502.110 and also Active X flash player 11. I have since turned off hardware acceleration in firefox to see if that helps and so far hasnt crashed but ive no doubt it will. Tried using google chrome and then had similar problems with that. Adobe really need to sort this out because this has been an ongoing problem for about 8 months and im sick of it.

Mozbackup is useful when tinkering.

I'm no fan of firefox myself, but the funniest bit is this
The sooner programmers drop Java and Flash i would be a happy person as there will be no need crappy add-ons like these.
On my Win XP dual boot, I stupidly updated to FF 16 and it's slow and jerky.
So... sounds like a conflict between FF 16 and Flash 11. Or something else.
Odd that this was never a problem until a few weeks ago.
A family member swears by FF and wants me to use it, but it doesn't suit me.
I am a bit of a believer in democracy among other things so I think there ought to be an internet vote every year on what to get rid of. Obviously all those crappy toolbars and addons would go the first few years, but it would not be long before Adobe, the world's most invasive software, was sent to the happy huntiung ground.
Can I vote to get rid of your ramblings?
One of the things Opera gets accused of is feature bloat and being "too difficult" for newbies to use, etc. There are a lot of things to fiddle with in its options, arguably too many for the "too many options confuses people" brigade. Probably the more likely complaint is that only Gort uses Opera, so it's not cool, etc.
F i r e f o x. Never had a moments problem.

Does Chrome make you write weirdly or something?
I am attracted by addons but the ones I use work and I don't have battles with them. Overall I prefer Firefox because I can always customise it to my preferred way of working.
I don't give a toss about "spying." I do use Chrome but find it less functional and usable than Firefox, that's all. I do use and like many other Google products.
I do use IE but find it inferior to the other browsers. I do use plenty of other MS products. Basically, I use whatever I consider the best tool(s) for the job. I don't have a religious hatred of big co, like many seem to.
I also use Opera occasionally and it's pretty customisable, more so than Chrome and in some respects more so than Firefox, though not as immediately obvious.
Yep, it's subjective. The browsers all have different features. That's objective. Whether or how much you care for any specific features is subjective.
The only "vote" that is necessary is if you don't like something, don't use it - or build your own.
Java is a fully-fledged programming language in its own right, and has very important benefits. Most Android applications are written in Java for example.
I assume you're talking about Java run-time and browser plug-ins.
I have reasons for actually trying out most browsers - Firefox runs well on my PC - it was installed by a Firefox expert for his own use when he is using my PC. People here are saying that they choose what is most suitable for them, and they customise the browser, etc.
I use IE because I switched to it a very long time ago, when I got fed up with Netscape becoming so slow. I carry on using IE because I see no need to change.
I use the browser for email and other communication, for information, for entertainment and so on. It is the same with other software, I use it for functionality. The software is not an end in itself. Microsoft made billions out of the fact that people like playing around with the software rather than getting on with their work, so I might be in a minority over this, but actually I don't think so.
The real question is not 'which one is best' or even 'which one suits me'. The real question is 'is there a need to change' or 'is it worth changing'. and I am fairly sure the answer is no.
Strange how people think this. Opera is extremely customisable by tweaking about under the hood and without bothering with extensions (although there are extensions now of course, still not sure I approve of that ).
It seems to happen when I go on to Amazon
It says something about flash and a script then just stops.
So now use Google Chrome for this site.
