19 minutes in.

Just staggering how he had them all eating out of his hand, lingering on every word. Shocking.

My God, I don't remember this.

It just shows how powerful the man was. If he walked into a room then people automatically became awestruck. He was a God like figure. That's why it made it so difficult for people to report him. They were instantly dismissed, or punished, for daring say such a thing about 'King' Jimmy.

Yes, it turned into something of a debate about Jimmy and the media in the end.

always knew something was wrong with Dermot O'Leary..i thought he was just a tosser but he had a traumatic experience for him to act like that.

    i won't mock him again.

He wasn't a mass murderer! Vile and awful as we now know but you can't wipe out a persons existence whether they were good or bad. We need to learn life's lessons.

Well FWIW, even when I was a kid I never took to him, as he never could engage in a normal conversation with people on the TV, and was always evasive IIRC.

As a young person I never liked him either, I always found him insincere and self-absorbed. I could never understand how he achieved the status he had. I was a Radio 1 listener but always turned off when his show was on, couldn't stand him.

Who knows? For what it's worth he intimated he had committed murder in the Theroux documentary. Maybe he was bullshitting, maybe he wasn't.

    shite, i remember watching that

sick, him sitting on a throne, expecting to be treated like a king, when in fact he should have been behind bars, with soup & bread each day

There was one bit where they were talking about their time in prison and Savile mentioned that he'd never been in prison, joking that being locked in the BB house was his first time behind bars...I do wonder what was going through his mind when he said that, how lucky he really was.

I'm not sure what your point is. Are you saying people don't commit murder? Paedophiles don't commit murder? Celebrities don't commit murder? Charity fund raisers don't commit murder?
Perhaps it's you who needs some perspective.
