so much for this new version, box missed deal or no deal on series link, and also will not allow me to record it manully.

thanks kieron, dont know how else to explain it, i go to bbc1 and then to bbc 2 , press swap and it goes to now ideal world. and back to bbc2, so bbc 1 is no where to be found on the swap button.

HIT OR MISS

BIG HIT! - added box functionality, swap, series link, synopsis time etc. Nice work tutv.
BIG MISS! - no subtitles. For those of us that may be partially deaf this can be a real problem. Was originally told, way back in december, to expect them in the new year...

Any rough, general, slightest hint, info, time frame, in the grand scheme of things, etc, ie next download, on the issue of subtitles being resolved??

Many thanks...

Could it be because BBC1 & BBC2 are on the same Mux, but Ideal World isn't therefore the tuner isn't changing?

raymogy, the swap button will swap you from one tuner to the other. So do this, switch on the pvr, which channel is on??? BBC1? Then channel up to for example, ITV1, okay?? Now press the swap (0) button, and it should go to BBC1, press 0 again, back to ITV1. Right, now try this, start one of your recordings to watch it, okay? now press the 0 swap button, voila, you will go to the channel that you were on before your recording began, so you can now swap to and fro from the recording that you are viewing, and the channel tuned to . O.k??? Post back to me please if this works

they have fixed the problem of it going back to the current time and date when you multiple recordings.

Now it goes back to the time of the last programme you recorded when you hit the back button

very pleased about that!!

Hits bit
  • Timer programming is ace now. Goes back where it was when you press BACK.
  • Series link.
  • A message box appears when deleting programmes and disappears when it's finished. I know now when I can use the box again after deleting a programme.

S**t bit
  • Still get frame-drops on live TV that don't show on recordings.
  • Still getting that green stripy screen. Well, it's happened once since the update.
  • STILL jumping all over the place on recordings and still having to rewind to see what I've missed.

I still have the picture skip as well. 2.44 not cured it.

Pause live TV glitch?

I have noticed that since 2.44 if you change channel then try and pause live TV I am intermitently getting the "!" at the top of the screen. Leave it for a couple of mins and it seems to work???

Anyone else got this?

good point, let me try another mux, but it should still swap between any two channels. a swap is a swap, regardless of mux.

The cMeister,

we have subtitles working (to a point) and are ironing out the last issues with them. I had wanted to get them into this download but they will (definitely) go into the next one.

regards,

Kieron.

raymogy, have you tried my suggestion, you didn't get back to me to let me know if it worked, the swap button only swaps between the last two channels (or your recording) that you have selected, so if you are on BBC1, then go to Film4, press 0 from Film 4 and you will then swap back to BBC1.

Alright have now solved why this is happening for you, its because you have to press the swap button to swap tuners, so this is the correct way.
1. Your on BBC1, press swap (this will take you to tuner 2, now go to BBC2, now press the swap button, and you should now be back on BBC1, so it is only when you press the swap button, do you go from tuner 1 to tuner 2, you were selecting BBC1, then going to BBC2 on the same tuner, so then when you pressed the swap button, it took you to Ideal World because this must have been the channel that was on the second tuner. So please try this

Just noticed the snazzy little U rating on this afternoons UKTVStyle content popup. Very neat.

I have also found that sometimes the second tuner will get stuck on a particular channel.

So If I have BBC1 on tuner 1 and ITV1 on tuner 2.
Using '0' I can swap between them. but then whenever I change the channel it only changes tuner 1, so ITV1 is allways on the Swap Button.

To get round this if ITV1 is the channel that is stuck, Select a different Channel ie BBC1, and start to record it (Hold down the REC button until the Record symbol shows in the top right of the screen).
Then select a new Channel (ie Channel 4), you should now be able to switch from BBC1 to Channel 4. You can then go back to BBC1 and hold down the Stop Button for a few seconds to stop the recording.

I'm not sure why but this seems to happen occasionally.

So far so good with the new biuld but the feature I really cant wait for is the low power standby. I have had the box in the bedroom until I feel as though it is reliable enough to come downstairs onto the main tv and have had to unplug it every night as the droan from it is really annoying. If they could just stop the hard drive from running or shut the fan up while on standby I would be a very happy bunny

Even when (or should that be if?) it has LPS it will still make the Hard drive and fan noise from about midnight till 11am due to the Anytime downloads, unless you deselect them all.
So for most people its not going to make much difference. Notwithstanding the benefits to the environment though

Will series link record the two parts of a film separated by (say) the news ?

I haven't tried it yet, but if you want to record "Along Came Polly" ITV1 on the 21st of March, it will give you a Series link option, so its looking hopeful.

Series link

It worked when I wanted to record both parts of "Cold Mountain" around the BBC news.

Thankfully im not subscribing to the anytime rubbish anymore, im just using the box as a recorder so I luckily wont get the noise in the night
