The Maddie case. Not the little girl herself but all the theories that are being tossed about in the papers.
Princess Diana.
Health stories. One day red wine can prevent heart disease, the next it gives you Tourettes and other such stupid contradictory articles. Tomorrow the papers will probably say smoking lessens the chances of lung cancer. I steer away from all those articles.

Madeleine Mc Cann - particularly sick of the "Daily Mirror" featuring the story every single bloomin` day on their front page.

I`m sorry for the parents and particularly for Maddie - but for Gawd`s sake GIVE IT A REST!

Princess Somebody Spencer. She died 10 years ago.
Mary McCann. Some girl who disappeared.
The Beechams. Some celebrity couple. One is a footballer and the other some glorified singer.
Bethany Spears. Ditto.

What are you fed up with hearing about in the newspapers, Or on the news, What makes you grab the remote to turn it over whilst thinking ''Oh no not again''
Maddie - Its old now.

Diana - She died in a car crash. Just let her rest in peace.

Paris Hilton - Some Z list celebrity who GMTV cut to from an important news story to show her coming out of prison.

Pete Whatshisface - He loves his drugs.

Carbon footprint.

The existence of a previous golden age when everything was lovely and everyone knew their place and there was no crime (apart from the Kray twins who loved their mum and kept it within their own gang) and everyone's family was contented and morals were what the Church of England and the Tory Party said they were.

The phrase PC gone mad with made-up urban rumours to justify it.
Everything would be fine if women stayed at home stories.
Men don't know their role in life anymore because a mythical woman once snapped at a man when he opened the door for her stories.

And the simplification of complex problems such as:

lone parents - dysfunctional children (as if one entirely caused the other)
crime = build more prisons

And the constant promotion of fad diets in newspapers and seasonal gross-outs over Christmas, a festival which is bloated out of all proportion.

Plus all those 'change the way you look/dress' programmes.

Yep, that one too (and the others you've said!).

And all those stories about the good old days when you could insult other people at random, by using words such as p*of, w*g, p*ki etc, without anyone minding. After all, no harm was meant by it.

And, people saying that they are not homophobic, because homophobic means being scared of gay people, which they're not; they just don't think gay people should have the same rights as heterosexual people.

[Heavy irony] Because they're only words and you must be a sensitive little flower to object to being called a word. I call my best friend a p*ki p*of all the time and he loves it. You must be a member of the PC brigade you Guardian reading sandal wearing lentil eater (only words, only words, don't hit me). [/heavy irony]

Diana's death which was about 8 years ago or something. I just think it was tragic yes but just let it rest because shes not at peace with them bringing it up over and over 20 times a year.

Hearing the name "Jamie Oliver" constantly is also grating me now. I used to like the guy but I just don't give a damn any more.

I like chocolate and cheeseburgers and pizza and chips and I'm going to eat them, and enjoy every last bit!
