Andy, welcome. It's good to have someone covering the North-West. I've been at a conference in Belgium this week (it was nice to watch "Match Of The Day" without knowing the results first) but I'm back and raring to go this weekend with football and rugby. If Chris Cooper was covering Sunderland on Tuesday, does he still commentate on Man U's matches for Century?
Welcome? I've been a member since 2001 I think. Only just changed my password to one I can remember.

Gary Weaver and Mickey Thomas do Man Utd for XFM. They have used Phil Blacker and Stuart Arrowsmith at times this season when Weaver has been doing Football First games for Sky.

Sorry Andy. Of course you have been contributing to this forum. I'll put it down to a hard week and a very dodgy flight back from Antwerp.

Thanks for the info re-Century and XFM. I forgot that the Man Utd contract switched to XFM but I thought that Chris Cooper was the commentator. Phil Blacker is getting around. He was prominent in London at Capital Gold then did some commentary for Century on Newcastle.

That Merseyside commentary must have brought back memories of how all commentaries from The Continent (TM) sounded in the 1970s ...

Well I'm too young for that but they certainly struggled. They had normal co-commentator Johnny Lawless there but as it was down the phone it had to be one man commentary.
