I have a big problem...

I have subcribed to O2 Home 250 for the past few months, but decided the other day to cancel it as I knew my month would be about up.

I texted the cancellation, and was told it would take about 2 days to process, and I would get a text confirming that it had. Funnily enough, 2 days later £4.99 came out of my account AND it had been cancelled.

Therefore, I have paid £4.99 for a service that I can't even use now! They have basically stolen my money!

I e-mailed them, but got some non-sensical reply concering dates that didn't even make sense and saying that its not possible to refund my money.

I e-mailed them back because I at least want to get what I have paid for!

Ofcourse I can't phone them, otherwise I have to pay 50p per minute!

I just don't know what to do! Can anybody help?

If their c/s is really 50p a minute, and seeing as the fee was £4.99, is it really worth bothering about??

Too right, is that the 0906 number they give you for o2 online? Why is is Virgin can charge only 10p per call to CS but O2 charge 50p a minute? and T-Mobile charge 25p per call, it's ridiculas!

So you're quite prepared to accept the hundred's of free text messages and WAP minutes but not pay 50p per minute to call CS? Comparing with Virgin or T-Mobile isn't really fair. Anyway T-Mobile's on-line tariffs also atract premium rate CS charges, 25p per call is for normal PAYG. CS charges are all part of the tariff - either accept the conditions of the tariff in full go elsewhere.

Well O2 pay & Go is charged at 20p a minute which doesn't even give you free texts or anything.

I think the point is that he has been charged for a service that he has not received and their is no complaint procedure that he can pursue that does not include punitive charges.

He also, no doubt, feels that charging £5 for a service that he cannot use is contray to those Terms and Conditions or, indeed, the Law.

That is his point.

I remember when they changed to this charge. It must have been about four years ago.

I was in first year at Liverpool Uni, on pay-as-you-go - the free phone that I got through Barclaycard.

There I was, receiving an incoming call on my pre-pay phone that had £6 on it and after 4 minutes it cut out. It had charged me for an incoming call!!! £1.50 a minute (the roaming charge on the tarriff). I got this money back because CS was free.

When they changed it to 20p a minute I stopped using BTCELLNET realising that I could not have rang them with no money (2p) on my phone.

As for why I was charged roaming rates, my best guess was that I was picking up the Isle of Man transmitter network. As I say- that's my best guess - don't know what happened.

I had e-mailed O2 about 3 times, and I just wasn't getting anyhwere. I kept getting fobbed off that they were passing it onto the relavent department, but I kept getting nothing back.

One call to that complaints resolution line 5 minutes ago, and the £4.99 was re-credited to my account! Problem solved!

However, the lady was curous that I got that number, as she said it isn't a call centre - but actually the very top of O2!
