Fi Glover is a remarkable broadcaster. The Sunday Service programme was just the right format for her talent. She has a rare ability to switch between serious and trivial and lets the guests talk.

I don't get chance to listen to her on a Saturday but in my opinion her natural home is Five Live not Radio 4.
I used to love Fi on radio 5 live late night spot. She had a lovely calming voice.

I am not a fan of Victoria mind you.

Listening to Vicky talk is like walking across a tray of broken glass whilst a crowd of drunkards urinates on you from above.

Asked a guest this morning who was perfectly coherent 'are you hungover ?'

Utterly incompetent broadcaster.

She is even more annoying and patronising in real life I'm afraid.

I used to enjoy listening to Victoria Derbyshire, but for some reason she starts to irritate me when I listen now. She just sounds a bit smug and stuck up. For some reason she sounds better on 5 Live from Sky or DAB - I know it sounds daft but she sounds worse on AM!

People complain about Nicky Campbell but I don't mind him at all - I'd rather have him than her. Can't believe there is nepotism at the BBC - they have all these equal ops/diversity/hypocrisy policies (only joking!)

Radio 5 should stick to sport.

The current affairs is dreadful. It attempts to combine an irreverent jokey mateyess with the usual BBC need to educate the masses for their own good. The result is awful.

It seems to appeal to the pedantic, low grade, younger public employee section of the population. OK, they need serving too by the state broadcaster but do they need a whole radio station?

The current affairs output is mixed. When it is done properly with Simon Mayo, Fi Glover and even Nicky Campbell it is excellent radio. Sadly, Victoria Derbyshire is poor and seemingly getting worse. I suspect the reason is simple; she doesn't do enough research.

I'm afraid that's what it's all about in her case. I'm sure she'd have been moved on by now otherwise. Her manner is just irritating beyond belief, and she comes across as ignorant The only solution is to switch her off if I ever hear her wretched voice. She's even more annoying than Richard Bacon and that's saying something.

She has turned her show into a poor "womans hour" and then Mr "bland an boring" Mayo to follow without even a proper news programme to break the monotony. My van radio stays firmly off now. Bring back Jon Gaunt

She seems to think she is "La Grande Dame" of 5Live! Oh no she isn't! She's a long, long way behind Shelagh Fogarty imho. I dread to think what Victoria Derbyshire would do with a breaking, mega serious news item - could she handle it? Whereas Shelagh would cope - no problem.
Comment was made earlier about Victoria Derbyshire's interviewing technigue highlighting a lack of research. If she does not get a shallow, bland answer to an equally shallow, bland question then she is stumped. Can almost hear her thinking "Help! What do I ask now?"!! Move her on, please!

Fogarty proved this week that she is the dominant presenter on Breakfast when she teamed up with Phil Williams.

Campbell could rattle VD's cage at the drop of a hat.

Fogarty turns it right around on him. She's possibly the best presenter on 5Live at the moment (IMHO).

Just move her off PMQs please.
Sixth formers could conduct a debate better.

So Vicky did the dirty on her colleague Fi Glover. Doesn't surprise me though, she's got the type of laugh that makes me think she could be a bit of a goer.

And she's more comfortable dealing with the downmarket and sordid topics her 10 - 1 show deals with.

The Beeb must be trying to steal some Talksport listeners with that show.

Thank God I'm not the only one to think that. Now that's annoying (obviously VD takes the top spot, but he's a very close second).

Oh fkk VD just turned up on radio 5 on a sports show. Like a bad old Corrie granny she started rambling about her show on Wednesday, as if anyone cares.

Who's going to listen to her ? Not me !

I'd have been happy if they had kicked her out of the pub. It's a long wait for anything else.

Victoria Derbyshire has been on Five Live for years. She was fine on the breakfast show with Peter Allen and Julian Worricker and is more than capable of handling breaking news stories. She didn't gel with Nicky Campbell though, and I can understand that, as he makes me want to put an axe through my radio when he comes on at 7am. Retuning to the Today programme is cheaper but less therapeutic.

Back to the point - since moving to mid-morning, Victoria seems to have lost it completely. She sounds so disinterested in everything. I'd like to hear Victoria back on a straightforward news show.
