I have 9114 songs on my ipod, not to mention podcasts and videos....

Now, today for some reason, iTunes ahs turned round and told me "Fragile (a song by Chrisette Michelle) could not be synced to the iPod because it's format cannot be played on my iPod."

However I have had this song on my iTunes since May, and it has always synced fine...

I've redownloaded the song from iTunes, but my concern is, what is the chance of this happening again?! I Can't afford to redownload every single song again!!

Any ideas why this has happened?

if you have bought it once - is it not free to redownload?

maybe just delete and re download it - actually check you can redownload it for free first

It's not free to redownload, but if you had to re-buy the track you should email iTunes and get a refund, explaining the issue you had that led you to re-buy.

I've never personally had that problem... if I were you, I'd backup your music on another drive. If an issue occurs like this again, you should do troubleshooting like uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, and restoring your iPod...be much cheaper than just re-buying songs that don't transfer when technically they should.
