3 mobile contract, clean credit history, but unemployed
Hi,
Is it possible to get a 3 mobile phone contract if I have a good and clean credit history, but am now unemployed due to redundancy? I claim no benefits and have paid all credit cards and can afford to pay for the 18 month contract. If i purchase the phone online - does it ask you if you are employed and to write your work address etc? How do they know if i am unemployed. thank you. |

I went into three last week after getting turned down online and got a phone, I'm on long term disability and have a credit history that would make Kerry Katona wince.
I don't know if the girl taking my details effed up the credit check somehow but too late now. I would recommend going down to a shop it seems easier to turn you down over the net than in person and since the salesperson gets commission they will try harder. |

I don't work and have a default on my credit file. I got a sim-only plan online last week

I would never advise anyone to break the law, but mobile companies do not check if what you've put for your employment status is true when you apply for a contract.

I just don't want to apply only for them to turn me down as it will effect my credit rating and I do not want to break the law.
Guess PAYG is the way to go until i find a new position. Thanks for your help. |

Tick the 'self employed' box. You could technically be SE one day, and the next day decide to end your business.

T-Mobile have some very good packages and also some good value boosters.
However, customer services is now absolutely diabolical, they just don't give a hoot (unless you're lucky and get through to someone in the UK, although that's virtually never) |
