The 11th issue of Crikey!, the magazine of British comics, is on sale from Thursday, and is now available from Borders and selected newsagents as well as Forbidden Planet, www.crikeyuk.co.uk and all the usual outlets. The mag is now in full colour and has jumped from 48 pages to a hefty 84 at no extra cost. Features this time around include Marvelman (and an interview with Dez Skinn, former head honcho of Warrior magazine), Pete Nash on his long running Striker strip and why he's pulling the plug on it, Steve Holland on Bear Alley Books' new line of classic reprints, and an exclusive editor with outgoing DC Thomson veteran Euan Kerr, plus Pat Mills on Tammy and more.

Just got it !!

Phew, took three newsagents to find it here in SE Northumberland but it was well worth the effort. An excellent read and much better quality than I thought it was going to be.

Especially interested/loved the article on the demise of Marvel's UK comic brand back in the early 80's. Those were great days buying comics during the 70's and it bugs me something rotten that I got rid of most of my collection.

Least I'm beginning to re-buy some of my old favourites - found 6 issues of Dracula Lives in an old second hand record shop the other day as well as buying a bunch of old Munster Fun and Shiver and Shake annuals the owner had lying around.

Crikey! #12 is due out on Thursday 29th October (hey, that's tomorrow!) and features interviews with comics legend Pat Mills (creator of 2000AD, Battle and Action and writer of everything from Frankie Stein to Doctor Who), humour artist Frank McDiarmid (the man behind the anarchy that was Cheeky Weekly) and Lee O'Connor (discussing his new project Stars: the Ayatollah's Son) plus more of the ongoing history of Marvel UK, Doctor Who in comics and more.
Available as always from Borders, Forbidden Planet, selected newsagents and comic shops or from www.crikeyuk.co.uk priced 4.99
