I can't wait to watch this film, it's based on a true story, sounds chilling.
However I still find it bloody annoying and stupid that this is released in the UK 4 months after it was released in the US. |

It's only two months after. Exactly two months in fact. The US release date was November 5th, the UK release date is January 5th.

It's been advertised quite a bit so I assume this will be a good film, it does look very gripping.

Had no fancy for this but heard the director, Danny Boyle, talking about it on Steve Wright's Radio 2 show yesterday and the way he was explaining it made it a lot more appealing.

Excellent film, and in my opinion a better film than the fantastic 'Buried' (which it's bound to be compared to). James Franco's performance was very Oscar worthy.
Literally everyone in the cinema was squirming and cringing at THAT bit (except me...i must be desensitized or something, lol). |

I went to see it this afternoon, and have to say it is a really gripping movie! I absolutely loved it! Can't wait to see it again when it is released on DVD. I loved it so much in fact, I went and bought Aron Ralston's book.

Some what surprised it was a 15 as well, given the bbfc extended advice says:
"Those intending to see the film are advised that [it] carries the potential to cause distress and physical discomfort." |

I think this is the one where a lot of people walked out of the test screenings because of that one scene

I've only watched James Franco in Freaks and Geeks and that crappy aftershave adverts on at the moment, has he improved that much that people are talking about Oscars then?

I saw it last night - was in a small screen but it was sold out. It was a good film - to the point and brilliantly acted.

I really liked it. For me, I didn't think it was the 5 star epic that some reviewers have tried to imply but I did enjoy it.
If you compare this to Buried, I actually preferred that film to this because I found I got more attached to Ryan Reynold's character and the ending really affected me more than this - probably because you already knew what was going to happen here. As far as "that" scene goes .. I only really cringed once when ..
Spoiler
.. but other than that, it didn't really make me queasy or anything like that. |
