Questions regarding The Eleventh Hour & The Big Bang
Hi all,
First post ![]() I've been watching since around the eight doctor/movie and have only recently started visiting here. Also I've started re-watching from the start of series 5 and have a question/observation about The Eleventh Hour and The Big Bang. From what we've seen so far sometimes were shown the future actions of the Doctor before he has done them yet, ie seeing him posting the note to young Amelia before the doctor (the one we're generally following) actually does it. Or seeing him talk to Amy in the forest in FAS. All this suggests that if the Doctor will do something in his future (from his perspective), which happens to be in our past, when it has already been done (from our perspective). TEH: When young Amelia is told to wait 5 mins for the Doctor to return she packs her bags and then waits in the dark. TBB: Later, the Doctor ends up at that same night again (at the exact moment Amelia is waiting outside in the dark) upstairs in the house. He is then in the garden and takes Amelia to her bed. Question 1) Does this mean the shadow we saw inside the house in TEH when Amelia was waiting outside (which looked like it ran towards the kitchen door and out of the house as both doors were left open) was in fact the Doctor? Simply running from upstairs to the garden to get Amelia? Question 2) Does that mean, in the end of all of it, the Doctor took Amelia into the house, meaning that she was not sitting there in the morning? This would indicate the scene showing Amelia sitting in her garden in the morning/daytime hearing the TARDIS was in fact just a dream and has no other relevance? |

Yes, I tend to agree with you. I've always assumed that since we know the whole Doctor-revisiting-his-life was happening alongside the main series (ie. in Flesh and Stone future Doctor was indeed there talking to Amy, it wasn't time being rewritten, it was there from the start) and we also know that the Doctor came back that night to take Amy to bed and go to his death, it must have been the Doctor's shadow in that scene.
But what we also found out in the S5 finale is that the Alliance also infiltrated Amy's house, so that's another plausible explanation, now I think about it. And I also think that the sitting on the case at daytime moment was just a dream. In other words, I agree with you on all counts. Welcome to the forum!
