A number of websites are reporting that Andrew Gold died of a heart attack today. Wikipedia have changed their text a number of times today, probably getting citations correct.

If it's stated on Steve Hoffman's site - I would guess that it's true. I heard about it today from Bob Lefsetz's 'Lefsetz Letter'.

Seems to be true.

Sad news indeed.

A great guitarist and general musician. First came across him before his solo stuff when he was in Linda Ronstadt's backing group.

Also sad that he is survived by his mother, Marni Nixon, who voice dubbed a lot of films in the 1950's and 1960's.

"No parent should ever outlive their child"

RIP Andrew!

Sadly true. A great voice from the 70's whose early work with Linda Ronstadt defined the West Coast guitar sound that shaped the music scene of that era.

Sad to hear this. Loved pretty much all of his solo hits and also the afore-mentioned Bridge to Your Heart. Wax's other single Right Behtween The Eyes is a classic as well.

59 years of age - no age really.

I've got 'Bridge to Your Heart' which he did as part of Wax and solo songs 'Never Let Her Slip Away', Lonely Boy' and 'How Can This Be Love'.

RIP Andrew Gold.

This is indeed very sad news. He was no age at all. One of my favourite songs of his "Never let her Slip Away.
RIP Andrew

A great Andrew Gold song, which always seems to slip past most folks radar, is 'Kiss This One Goodbye.'
