Summary of outstanding issues with the 3view PVR?
It has been quiet on here for so long, can I assume that there are no outstanding issues?
DSO and HD availability from my local transmitter are fast approaching and it is becoming make your mind up time for me as to which Freeview HD PVR to go for. |

I wouldn't say so. It's just that they've moved the discussion over to the in-house forum at forum.3view.com.

Had another look and seen enough to cross it off my shortlist. The absolute showstopper is the disk not spinning down in standby.

I read quite a few posts complaining of disk-like noises being heard even when in standby. If it is not the disk making the noise what is it?

3view support have also said they are working on a "power saving" fix to eliminate this. If it is not the disk making the noise then if I were an owner I would be a tad worried about what was instead. Of course it may be a transient bug where the disk does not spin down in standby when it should which would explain why some people get it and others don't.

My unit is absolutely silent- I have it in my bedroom.
There have been a handful of comments on the forum re noise on the units, but the vast majority are silent... like my own...3view cust service comment that they have had only a handful of complaints (single figures) re this which indicates its an unlucky minority... |
