Heard this today. It is impossible to get who it is!

When I last listened at 1pm the prize fund was up to £25,300 (going up £100 every wrong guess - once an hour).

How long will a competition like this go on for before they scrap it if no one gets it? And do Global have that money to give away if someone did get it?!

Great competion - heard it being played over the last few weeks and whilst many will knock the bigger groups like Global, they know how to do things properly. I was travelling into the South/East this morning and caught one of the worst breakfast shows I have heard for a while. The presenter who I recognised from a London station (I think on one previously), attempt a mystery voice type competition, executed very very badly! Indeed the whole competition concept was awful.

Do like this competition, as said its a great idea. Used to love the old Gcap/GWR Secret sound competition. Some of those prize funds went up to around 10k and thats just a single site.

This competition has been going on for 11 weeks and no one has got a single voice right so fa.

Surely there must of been hundreds if not thousands of guesses it only makes me think that these voices are of people so far of the celebrity list and people that virtually no one has ever heard of.

What do others think ?

How long is this going on for? Heart in Sussex has a competiton called Who's On Heart going. It seems to have been going on forever! Basically there are three celebrity voices. One says Who's the second says on and yes you guessed it, the third says Heart. 11 weeks on and no one has got one voice right. Every hour the DJ calls someone to have a go at guessing the voices. Name one and win £1000, name two and win £5000. Name all three and win the rolling jackpot which is now £60000! Now you know what will happen. The caller gives three random names. Lets say Jonathan Ross, Gok Wan and Barbara Windsor! The dj then gives a huge drumroll build up and announces the caller has none right. This is now getting boring!! For gods sake someone get one right and end this never ending competiton once and for all! And supposing one name is right but in the wrong order. WHat then? And how much longer will this go on? It could last for years!

The fact that you're all talking about it here means it's doing the job it's been designed for; namely to create 'talkability' about the comp/station. It's what's known as a water cooler moment when friends and workmates speculate on the answer, the wrong guess and what they'd spend the money on if they got through and actually won!

In the past it was always a mystery sound, or mystery thingy... identifying the celebrities has just refreshed the idea a bit.

Exactly.. the mystery voice competition has been done across UK radio for years. I remember hearing other Bauer stations doing it years ago.

Wave 105 did it. Went on for ages. They eventually started giving out incorrect guesses/clues.

On another note Jack fm is running a similar competition but with it's audience as the voices.
