There is a demo on the vita store - which was okay. It is a dungeon crawler, loot style game. Not too bad, but way too expensive on vita. The PS3 version is around the £10 mark

I guess he means to have multiple PSN accounts, in which case you need a separate memory card for each one and you have to factory reset your Vita every time you want to change account.
I would hazard a guess it would take 5-10 minutes to do this. |

Seems to be a good modular design with easy access to the battery etc and an 8/10 repair-ability score. And interesting contrast to some near to 'best just dump it' tablets which get 2/10. These devices should really be dual boot with a secondary Android system. It is still the fastest bit of tablety kit out there, supposedly with the SOC being designed with IBM and made by Toshiba, not Samsung. |

They are real games, not your typical tablet app.
But yes £10 a game would be fairer. Sony might eventually need Android considering there is quite a dumbing down mindset these days. |

Going to be picking one of these up very soon.
Probably going to go for the Wifi only model, with 2 games (Uncharted and Rayman), 8GB card and a case. |

Best mobile gaming kit ever, would be perfect if it supported PSone titles, so I could play RE2 & 3 without remote play.
Hopefully it'll be in the next firmware update. |

I'm stuck on what game to get next - FIFA, Unit 13 or Virtua Tennis. Needs to tie me over until Lego Batman 2 in June or until LBP or Lego LOTR is released

Unit 13 is a good shout, out of Uncharted, Shinobido 2, Rayman and Golf it's the one I've enjoyed playing the most.
I wish they'd hurry up and release lbp and Resistance now as I want some new games to play ![]() Lego Batman 2 does look awesome, I just hope it's not another lazy PSP port like LHP years 5-7 is. See this review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MQw8hVptsE

I think Unit 13 will be my next game on the Vita. The only thing I can't decide is download or cartridge...

I'm making full use of the 3G version and having only put £5 on the sim, it is lasting me ages
I did what it said to get the Wipeout code, ie, add credit by logging into the site (which I did on the Vita) and then create an account, which I had to do on the PC later on. I then e-mailed them and was told I need to buy a voucher. So I will try again as I need to top up the credit I was using this on the bus as I normally do, and I took it out of the case the other day, which was the case that came in the starter kit (the one you clip it into). The bus turned sharply and it flew off my lap.. It landed on the back, and there are just a few tiny scratches on the back, including a very small one on the rear touchpad (you have to look closely though). How it didn't have more scratches, or land on the screen, I don't know. I am feeling very lucky. I only took it out as it was easier to use. Something I will not be doing again |

Dumbing down is thinking you need "real games" during a work day. You can play angry birds while dropping a deuce for a few minutes, but playing a real game when you can do that at home the right way is ...dumb. Vitas market is for gaming addicts., not sure whats so smart about that.

Looking at it now, I'm dumb for thinking I would find more use for the Vita than I did for my PSP, I've learnt nothing from buying the PSP. |

These days you have pause mode too. It is the very first time I've heard xbox, PS3 Vita etc users all described as 'addicts'. "Oh I only play the best portable games because I'm an addict". It don't quite fit. |

It's all down to personal preference though, surely? I don't use my Vita "that often" (good luck defining how often that actually is...) but every time I do it's because it's fun, and I have zero regrets about buying it. The Vita exclusives that I have are great, the PSP games that I've bought from PSN over the last year or two all work a treat and as a bonus are very well upscaled.
At the end of the day if you don't want/can't justify the cost of a Vita that's fine with me, it's not a cheap bit of kit and the whole memory card thing is a complete bloody rip off, but I play mine often enough that it's worth it to me. Oh, and fwiw, I still play "crappy" games on my phone too - Angry Birds Space is great fun, but in terms of gameplay, graphics, character and of course "must get three stars" it doesn't even get close to Escape Plan on the Vita... |

My thought was always that they secured a sully of the AMOLED+ screens in order to surpass other stuff out there.
I'd hazard a guess that autumn will bring with it a budget model using, the only difference being that it uses a far cheaper TFT screen. |

I doubt it, making a different model will only increase their costs.
Especially when sales are already poor. Apple secures its low price/high margin by limiting model lines as well. Quote:
