I think most viewrers are aware that not everything is rosy behind the scenes on television shows, so why the need to spill anyway. Unless someone has been particulalry prejudiced or vile on a horrendous level then general bitching is something that prob doesn't need to make news.

Ben Elton wrote 'Chart Throb', loosly based on an X Factor type show, but he wrote as an outsider (ie he'd never taken part as judge or contestant).

Chloe has been a contestant so will have to be careful how she portrays her characters or who she bases them on. If any fellow contestants read the book, how will they feel if they think they can spot 'themselves' - especially if it's a negative picture

Yes, I liked them too but I could never take to Chloe and was really pleased she didn't win DOI.

I said anyone who writes about anything they've experienced <-- people who experienced it themselves, not people on here could be accused of "milking" it, so that can't be very wrong either. (Experienced it themselves for instance by being part of the show.)
