Is it time we start talking more about this guy? He's been going about his job quietly for a few season now. Mr reliable, constantly providing assists and inevitably popping up with the odd goal, but lately there seems to have been a shift. In recent games, Valencia has almost became United's main outlet. The amount of times Rooney and Scholes switched the ball out to the right tonight, and it seemed every time the ball went out to him, it ended up in the 18 yard box. If it wasn't for Blackburn's strong defensive performance, United would've probably found the net more, but equally the goals that were eventually scored seemed almost inevitable.

There are 2 positives of having a player like this out wide like that. Firstly, with his speed and crossing ability there is a constant threat of a killer ball coming in, and secondly, when that becomes your main threat, it stretches the opponents defense, as it needs to cover a wider area, when narrow is usually preferred. This allows the players in the centre more space to create there own chances.

It seems to me that Valencia is the key to bringing out the best in others, even if he only occasionally gets the spotlight himself.

I love Valencia.

He is my favourite United player right now & when he plays. we are so much better going forward.

He's authentic winger, the like of which isn't as popular as in previous times, due to the ditching of the 4-4-2 system by many.

If he can stay injury free, he will be key to United retaining the title, because he has to be amongst the best Right sided midfielders in England right now.
