His performance in The Voice was bad compared to these two singles. Perhaps studio magic? Or stage nerves? He let himself 'go' vocally and found it hard to get back 'on track' so to speak? Glad will.i.am picked him. I think he (will) is the best man to try to give Tyler the best chance for a comeback.

Agreed. At the end Tyler said it was nerves and cant wait to sing the songs he likes to sing best, so I think he can go down the route of what those 2 songs were like. Those singles are catchy!

With the right way of mentoring him, I feel a lot of people will support Tyler as the underdog, as Max, J Marie Cooper and a lot of others are the front runners.

Did anyone else think he was medicated up to his eyebrows? He came across as stoned to me, like he'd OD'd on Valium just to make it through the performance.

Would you have thought that if he wasn't a friend/bf of Amy Winehouse though? It's very easy to assume that he'd be a druggy and high on something just cus he's associated with her.

He seemed pretty normal to me, he was probs just very nervous.

Why Do I Do went back into the top 1000 of itunes after his performance on Saturday - I guess if he progresses, more songs of his could make a resurgence

In the music videos, he looked so promising. Alert, confident, etc (well, it's edited, and there could be many takes before they found the perfect ones).

But on Saturday, he was subdued. His eyes lost most of the sparkle. Oftentimes, when people are high (drinks, drugs - prescription or otherwise), they look like he did on Saturday. So yes, I won't be surprised if he did take 'something' before the show.

I thought this was already pretty known. He was on drugs but went to rehab during the early part of Amy's career. He was already clean before the height of Amy's troubles with drugs and he helped her try and stop and was the one who forced her to go to rehab. After she died, he considered suicide.

And to the people who said that he rode on Amy and career, that is false too. I remember pictures of them together back in 2003 before Amy's trouble when she was promoting her first album.

Singers like her have uniqueness. I never liked Janet, but I did like Diana Vickers. Yes, okay; they need to sometimes work on their diction but other wise, she was good.

He's an alchoholic and drug addict in remission and so he'll always be a ticking time bomb going back into the music industry, as it's freely available as everyone knows.
Good luck to him for wanting to face it all again, but he'll have to remain strong and vigilant at all times.

He was one, not is. Far as I know, he has been clean since around 2003-2004, and became suicidal the year Amy died, but he went to get help for that. I'm sure he won't go back to drugs after what they did to his friend.

His audition was terrible, but I knew he had potential as I heard these singles before his audition.

I hope Will doesn't mess him up, I think I'd like him in live shows (If he wasn't just 'AMY'S BEST FRIEND')

I think what getty was saying is that once an addict, always an addict. You are just recovering and have it under control. The celebrity lifestyle is not the easiest one in which to stay clean.
